[enter-talk] OUR PEACH GODDESS, HAPPY BIRTHDAY…

Today, as we reach yet another August 6th, it is once again our lovely Honda Hitomi's birthday!

Some of you might not know about her, considering how she is working as a support instead of a pro hero. She doesn't really have a hero name because of this, but after the aforementioned mission, everyone who adores her has called her as Peach Goddess, a term started by the pro hero Silver Shiver (x).

Hold on, you might say, do I really mean the Silver Shiver, SK's Number 10? Yes, the very one! Pro hero Silver Shiver is the best friend (or even soulmate, as some would gladly tell you) of our Peach Goddess. Some anecdotes about how their friendship formed and progressed can be found in their friends' interviews (x, x, x, x, x), or, if you would like to read some first-hand accounts, Silver Shiver herself has shared a little with us on some occasions (x, x, x). There is a lot that can be discussed about their precious bond, but this post isn't written for that purpose, so I'll leave it to you to dig further yourself!

Pointing back to the title of this post, it's our Peach Goddess birthday today! It has been a decade since her family moved into SK, enrolling into Support and Hero 101 High School (a fun insight on the name of the institute can be found here x), to then signing up with the special Support force after graduation with Cherry Blossom (x) and Facile Fairy (x). Together with the two, as well as the reputable alumni of Class 3-R (x), they were sent two years post-graduation as a part of SK's aiding force for Japan (x, x, x).

It will be honestly too long to tell how everything went down in detail, so here is the masterlist of the news surrounding the team for the whole year they were stationed in Japan; (x) and another masterlist to the compiled translations of Japanese news about them, too; (x).

If you took time to leaf through the masterlists, you might notice that the Support force trio in general weren't highlighted much. But, "it is not for highlights or headlines that we're doing this (...) we try our best to do what is right, and if, one way or another, media decides to shine light upon our effort, it is our hope that what is shown could inspire our youth to look into Support, too." This is a direct quote from our Peach Goddess for an interview several months ago (x). Even so, there are others out there like me who have been following the news about her and other Support figures…

As a little kid, with a non-offensive quirk, I used to be really envious with my childhood friends who have quirks belonging to the combative type. I wished so badly that I could be a pro hero, like many of you did/do, and my friends would joke around that I wouldn't last a minute in a battle of quirks. It's true, but it hurt to be reminded of it, to hear it said out loud, and I had come to resent life.

Until… I stumbled upon the Support force trio from the news. The discoveries and reports made about them gave me strength. Lent me hope. Showed me, that being a pro hero isn't the only way I could make myself matter.

Honda Hitomi, our Peach Goddess, especially…

Her quirk is actually a powerful one. It has been talked as falling only a bit behind compared to Creati (x), the Japanese pro hero she managed to fight alongside with in Japan. If she pursued hero course, she would have been successful, but she chose to wield her quirk (x) in the support field instead, putting her all in her studies as she did so, which in turn allowed her to not only do better, but the best (x). Her works in the support department are invaluable, and in a way, she is a hero to many of us, even without the pro hero label.  

Her presence inspires me, and I want to use this moment to express my gratitude to her; for her effort, her moving words, her genuine hardwork, her pretty heart. Happy birthday, our Peach Goddess, and may only good things come your way from now on!

Even if today is the first time you've heard of Honda Hitomi, please wish her a happy birthday, and have a great day, everyone!!!

OP this post is super thorough and precious, props!!! I love her so much too no joke ㅠㅠ Also, if this is your first time knowing her, I'd implore you to check this (x) it's a video where she, along with pro hero Silver Shiver, talked about how important it is to reach out and adopt the children the war in Japan had made orphans of--if you have the means, of course. I guarantee that watching it will make your heart fuller, mine hasn't gone hungry for nearly two years already. Happy birthday, our Peach Goddess!!! <3

They have been living together for two years now!

     To clarify, so far they've always carefully evaded the questions pertaining the nature of their relationship. Which is understandable, because only two years ago the notion of them co-adopting as two females caused a (ridiculous) uproar (x, x, x), the same way pro hero Fiery Prince and Finger Gun received backlash, though to a slightly lesser degree, a month later (x, x). We have advanced quite some steps forward since then, as far as legalizing same- marriage (which is frankly at least a century too late, but well) (x), but I wouldn't fault them for being as cautious as they are about their daily lives. It can be argued that pro heroes are considered celebrities now, and the Support force trio each has quite a following even though not as hardcore and massive as their pro heroes counterpart. Even then, with what little we are allowed to see, we can all agree that their bond is something so precious, so... :) Happy birthday, Silver Shiver's one and only Peach Goddess! We all love you! <3
