“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Nayeonie. Happy birthday to you,” Twice sang in chorus as they welcomed the birthday girl inside the dorm.

Chaeyoung held the cake for Nayeon to blow the twenty five candles Jihyo stuck on the cake’s surface. Nayeon closed her eyes, clasped her hands together before lowering her face to blow the candles and once she did, the rest of the members clapped and Tzuyu turned the lights on.

“I didn’t expect this kind of treatment from all of you, considering the fact that you guys just left me in the practice room earlier and went home.”

“Unnie, we did that so we can prepare for the surprise. It’s not like we’re just gonna leave you there for no reason,” Dahyun said flatly.

“Oh, I would.”

“Yah, Yoo Jeongyeon!”

And the group was caught in a laughing fit. 

“Unnie, let’s go to the living room! Jihyo ordered chicken, pizza and some tteokbokki,” Momo quipped before racing everyone else to the living room.

The others just shook their heads, some even giggled, “We should go too. Before Momo hogs all the food,” Sana said while already pulling Dahyun into the shared space and everybody followed suit.

Once everyone was settled in the living room, sitting on the floor, Chaeyoung placed the cake on the center of the circle they formed around the ordered food while Jihyo called for one of their managers and asked him to take their picture. After the quick pictorial they had, Twice dug in, eating like there’s no tomorrow because it’ll probably be the last time they can eat as much as they want due to the fact that they’re making their comeback in less than twenty four hours.

While they were eating, Nayeon couldn’t help but notice the absence of one member. Mina.

Jeongyeon looked up from her bowl of tteokbokki, “She headed straight to your room when we arrived. Must’ve been tired.”

Nayeon hummed but she certainly couldn’t ignore the heavy feeling in her chest, thinking that she’s celebrating her birthday without the younger girl and Tzuyu noticed her longing stare at the hall towards their room, “You can go check on her, unnie.”

Then, six heads turned toward her direction at the same time. Nayeon couldn’t help but smile.
