I've always thought that zombie shells—I'm referring to their skulls, would be that as soft as those in the movies. But now in reality, I really had the struggles to attack them with my Katana and slash their throat and their shells to take them down. 

 

 

 

Now, my blade is dripping with filthy blood, oozing in the thick dusted pavement of this deserted city. Luhan and Taehyung just followed behind me as I kill a bunch of zombies coming towards us. Believe me, this is not easy.

 

 

 

I didn't imagined myself killing something using a samurai blade, or any kind of weapons towards anyone at all. I once a normal boy who wears black shiny shoes paired with white long sleeves and black slacks before. The only occasion I wear light color attires.

 

 

 

But look at me now, killing almost everyone insight. Loving the sound of my blade, cracking the hard skulls of the newly turned corpses.

 

 

 

"Stay close." I ordered. They nodded as they looked around the surroundings attentively. 

 

 

 

"We got your back." Luhan mumbles, a couple of freshly killed squirrels hanging on his hips.

 

 

 

Luhan is also holding a large gym bag where our useful things were shoved there like flashlights, batteries, a pull up tent, ropes, knives, a rifle and two handguns. Taehyung holds two backpacks where our canned goods and water supplies are inside.

 

 

 

"We're almost there." I announced as we headed towards a small store that we plan to enter. I've been very careful because we hadn't been gone this far from this city and we don't know if how many zombies are out here roaming.

 

 

 

It makes me sick hearing nothing but the wind lash that brings eerie sound in the air. It feels uncomfortable to see that there's no one else left here.

 

 

 

 

Luhan tampered with the lock, taking a few minutes before it clicked open. The glass windows are covered with thick dusts that may help to cover us from the incoming zombies outside.. The door gave us a creepy rustling, cracking sound as it was not opened a long time ago. A good sign that goods there have never been touched.

 

 

 

The surroundings are a little bit dark with the glass windows covered with dust. The aluminum and metallic trays are fixated paralleled across the store.

 

 

 

Taehyung reaches for the safety switch and pushed it on. Opening the dimly lit and flickering fluorescent store lights from the ceiling, everything was intact with a thick dust laying still on top of everything. I'm surprised that electricity is still available in this store, probably the solar panels above.

 

 

 

And there, I got alerted when a couple of zombies was roaring and started nearing us from our location, dragging their rotting bodies by their feet. I raised my blade and move a step forward. 

 

 

 

We are not lunch.

 

 

 

"Get back!" I yelled, holding my samurai sword in place.There are six of them. Five crews and one outsider, the civilian probably infected the five other crews inside.

 

 

 

 

I really hate the gurgling and roaring noises of the zombies. Not just only that it makes me shiver sometimes but it really pisses me off. They are so desperate for fresh living flesh.

 

 

 

 

I launched, swooping down as I slashed the groaning zombie's head in half from the tiled floor. Then taking each one of the standing ones.

 

 

 

 

"Clear." I said as we got to the middle of the store. Taehyung started grabbing dry goods on the trays. Luhan and I rounded all of its corner to make sure that there's no zombie left.

 

 

Jackpot.

 

 

I broke the glass of the vending machine and grabbed a bottle of beer. Sliding my back on the wall and sipping on it.

 

 

 

I've never tasted beer before but now is the chance. I might die soon without even tasting one so here it is. Cheers.

 

 

 

After I get to half of the beer that doesn't even taste that good as I expected, there was it again, the hammering sound. At first I didn't mind it as I thought it was just the malfunctioning of the flickering lights but then it got clear to me that it wasn't the lights on the ceiling that was making the noise. It was the silver rectangular door behind the counter.

 

 

 

 

 

"Wait. Did you hear that?" Taehyung came closer, bags of chips are on his arms. His mouth full of it too.

 

 

 

 

 

 "Shhh..." I motioned, bringing my legs upwards. The noise is getting louder and it was like banging sounds. Someone's ing banging the door? 

 

 

 

"You heard that?" Taehyung whispered as he crouched down beside me.

 

 

Luhan came along while preventing to make anymore noise.

 

 

"I heard gunshots outside." He hissed as he stay alert.

 

 

"Someone's outside." I mumbled as I stood up.

 

 

I brought my legs towards Luhan, telling him to ready his rifle. I also told Taehyung to hold a handgun just in case.

 

 

 

And before I knew it, I already twisted the doorknob from where it seemed to be the noise is coming from. I expected someone trying to open the door but all I saw was blood covered zombies entering the store.

 

 

 

"What're we going to do now?! They are so many!" I heard Taehyung panicked. 

 

 

 

All this time I realized that a big store don't just get managed by five crews as I saw about fifteen of them coming at us at the same time so I can't attack them one by one. 

 

 

 

"I can't go near th m. This place is crowded." I hissed as we backed away.

 

 

 

Luhan used his rifle and shoot their heads like a pro. They all brought down, but the thing was that zombies continued slipping out the door, and it was unsettling because they are multiplying in number.

 

 

 

"Where the does these zombies are coming from?!" I heard luhan cursed. 

 

 

 

"From the exit door. Connected by the back door." I said as I plunged a zombie a meter away from us. It's just now that I realized it.

 

 

 

 

"Hyung! What do we do?!" Taehyung scrambled as he shoot a head of the zombie with the handgun but missed.

 

 

 

 

"Out in the front door." I spoke as I covered them both. Slashing and detaching the heads of the zombies from their bodies. Damn, this out my stamina.

 

 

 

"B-Baekhyun!" I heard Luhan yelled. And that's the time when I ran towards them.

 

 

 

And all I see was Luhan and Taehyung's terrified face.

 

 

 

And looking on the front door which was our only chance of escape, it's already crowded in zombies. They covered the street and now they saw us on the wiped, with blood, glass windows.

 

 

 

They started banging the glass window and I know that it won't last long. And the zombies inside the store are increasing.

 

 

 

I cursed under my breath.

 

 

 

We are trapped.
