CHAPTER 1

"Give way ! Give way!"

"Everyone step aside" One of the medics shouted as they pushed the stretcher with a man lying unconsciously as the other nurse tried to put pressure on the wound on the way to the emergency room.

"What is the situation here?" Dahyun appeared as she joined the paramedics towards the intended room.

"A .25 caliber hunter gun was used to shot the victim. It is a hunter gun hence, no healing potion from the witch nor the vampire's blood can heal the wound. " Paramedics explained in a urgent matter .

They entered the room and carefully transfer the patient to the surgery room.

While the nurses prepare the medical tools and equiptment necessary to a surgery.

Dahyun then asked for the sterilized gloves and proceeded to assess the patient's gunshot wounds.

She took a scissor handed by one of the nurse and cut carefully the white shirt which was already soaked in blood.

"The man is on his 30's with a stong physique. The bullet hit near his rib and could be a lung injury." Dahyun thought.

Dahyun then instructed the nurses to place an Endotracheal (ET) tube into his lungs to help with the breathing and started an IV to give IV fluids.

Dayhun then started a long operation to remove the bullet which had penetrated and to repair the damaged lung of the patient.

Dahyun's Pov

I sat down exhaustedly on the bench outside the emergency room.

The operation lasted for more than 12 hours counting the other complications that came a long with the operation.

"Another life was saved" I murmured thanking the heavens for a successful operation.

"Here, drink this" A can of hot chocolate drink was handed in front of my face. I curiously looked up towards the person who gave me the drink.

"I was supposed to give you coffee but knowing that dont drink one decided to bring this one, young one" Mina said smiling.

"Hmmm, thanks. I am in need of the sugar rush right now" Dahyun smiled and took the hot drink from her.

Mina then offered her hand to help Dahyun to stand up.

"Looks like you saved another life again. Looks like this is your 4th human patient who needed surgery in a span of 36 hours." Mina said.

"We-well, I guess so. It couldnt be helped. Looks like a lot of rogue attacks are happening especially in this kingdom. " Dahyun said as she stretched her aching muscles.

"Unless a certain vampire I know prefer to substitute. I wouldnt mind" Dahyun jokingly continued and leaned teasingly to Mina.

"Hmph, you know that the smell of human blood gives me the chills. I might end up their suffering sooner than their attempt for another heartbeat" Mina answered.

"That is why you are my favorite vampire, Mina-chan. Because you could never do that" Dahyun laughed and put her one arm to Mina's shoulder as they went to the doctor's ward to call it a day in the hospital.

After changing into a casual clothers , the two friends proceeded to leave the hospital towards the parking lot.

They were heading towards Dahyun's car when her phone rung indicating a call.

"Let me guess, your hunter friend will check up on you if I haven't eaten you alive yet" Mina said jokingly.

"Relax, she propbably asking how was my day. I just dont understand why both of you dont just get along" Dahyun said and before Mina could retort back, the young girl immediately answer the call and stick her tongue out towards the vampire who is ready to answer the number of reasons why she despise the hunter girl.

"Hey bro ! I miss you, what's up?" Dahyun greeted the caller while both her and Mina settled themselves in her car.

"I heard one of my men got injured and was brought to your hospital. Is he ok now?" Chaeyoung asked not beating around the bush.

"I am fine thank you! Been three days we last saw each other" Dahyun answered differently and enthusiastically.

Mina smirked at this clearly loving the groaned she was hearing on the other side of the line.

"Arghhh! Dubu, I am serious. Answer me" Chaeyoung groaned annoyingly.

Dahyun chuckled, "Yes, dont worry he is fine. He would be needing to stay inside the hospital for some time to recover"

"Ok, glad to hear that. I know you are the best Dubu" Chaeyoung sighed with relief.

"Don't worry, I got your back bro but you know this is becoming alarming. I treated so many of your members in a week. And this one, to think that a rogue vampire used the hunter's own gun and tried to kill him is rather ..." Dahyun said

"I know , I know...Gosh, why do vampires do exist in this world? Arghh... " Chaeyong butted in. Dahyun looked at Mina watching her reaction as she clearly just raised an eyebrow at the statement.

"Alright, Chaeyong no need to be so worked up. What is important now is that he is safe and besides not all vampires are evil you know" Dahyun said as she smiled softly to Mina.

"Yeah, yeah ! Fine, I know your vampire friend is there so I wont argue anymore. Anyway, I gotta go. I have some important meeting with the Alpha Queen and with Leader of the Witch about the incidents happening" Chaeyoung said dismissing her best friend and she bid good bye.

Dahyun sighed as she ended the call hearing about the Alpha Queen triggered something in her chest but she decided to ignore it and just put her seatbelt on.

"Sooooo , I was thinking since we had an eventful time saving the lives of many it has come to my attention that we need to have some sumptous meal for tonight Mina-ya, I will cook for you" she said sweetly towards Mina as she used her faked failed British Accent at her.

Mina decided to lean closer to Dahyun and put her hand on Dahyun's face as she turned it towards her making the younger girl's face closer to her then, she kissed her lips.

Dahyun savor the moment of having Mina's lips on her before the older girl pulled away and leaned comfortably on her seat.

"What was that for?" Dahyun asked.
