Chapter 1: This is a happy and sad story. Happy that they met one another and went on to live. Sad because they didn't at least get together. I love stories like this though. Sometimes you have to let go, even if it hurts...

Chapter 1: Yeah! This is totally unexpected. Even if they didn't end up being together, it's okay. Mark saved Jinyoung's and his own life so yeah.

Awhh. It's like they are bound to meet each other but not meant to be together. It may look or sound angsty but as you said "each one of us has their own definition of a happy ending" . It may not be the ending some of us wanted . They may not be together But the ending you gave is already enough to let me (us readers ) know that indeed they had a happy ending . Good job ate it's very well written.
