With a groan, Hyukjae slowly opened his eyes when his father kept on honking the car horn to signal the maid inside the mansion. His father immediately rolled the window down of the car and greeted the maid. Hyukjae’s eyes widened in surprise upon hearing the squeal from his mother. He followed her sight and saw the reason why she was squealing in this hour of the morning. Four cars were already parked at the lawn. He recognized the old car owned by his uncle, Yi Hoon. He glanced at his parents once again with his most bored look that he could make. His father turned off the car and pulled out the key from the ignition after parking it near the trees. Both his parents went out, leaving him alone in the car. He didn’t mind though. All he can do was to palm his face. He couldn’t help but to sigh dejectedly as the realization slapped him. His two-weeks spring break officially started now, in this ancient mansion of his grandparents. Boring. Disaster. Nightmare. He gasped and jolted in shock while clutching his chest when someone knocked on the window at his right. “Father. Don’t scare me like that.” He groaned, rolling his eyes when he opened the door. “Hyukjae, son. What are you doing here? Go out and help us bring out the luggage from the back.” His father said to him with his brows creased. “Don’t be a lazy kid. It’s spring.” He was scolded before his father went to the back to unload their bags. He rolled his eyes again at the statement. Exactly, it's spring. What the hell are we doing here? Two days ago, he immediately complained and sulked upon receiving the news from his parents. His father had already promised to take him to the Philippines (it was their season of summer) to enjoy the white sand and outstanding view of the sea but a sudden call from his aunt ruined his dream spring-slash-summer vacation. If only his mother didn't cry in front of him while holding a picture of his grandparents, he would have already gone to the Philippines alone. Probably, if they were in Boracay right now, he was swimming already, flirting with some girls or boys or posting some self-taken photos and food delicacies from the Philippines on his social media accounts. But luck was not beside him and he's stuck with his family and relatives for the whole two weeks. He went back to reality and unwillingly helped his father unload their things before glancing at the door. His mother was already inside, probably chatting with her siblings that she had missed. Hyukjae then looked at the exterior of the house. It was built with bricks and covered with light brown paint. It was a three storey mansion with a master's bedroom, five bedrooms that his mother and siblings used during the past and ten guest rooms. It was a big mansion that his grandparents owned that they left to their children before they die. No arguments happened in owning the house since her mother and her siblings agreed to share it equally. The eldest among the siblings who happened to be single became the caretaker of the house and being assisted with some maids. It became the family's rest house for vacations and holidays. He was busy staring at the mansion that he didn't notice his cousins were already running to him. "Hyukjae!" The said man didn't have the chance to turn his head because he was already tackled down by his cousins. He groaned in pain and glared to those who pushed him down. "What the ? Ryeowook? Sungmin?" He gawked at them for a while but giggled when the two showered him with kisses. "Okay. That's enough." A voice interrupted them as the two males were pulled up by none other than his craziest cousin, Kim Heechul. Hyukjae was pulled up as well and observed them as he stood at his feet. Six months had passed since he last saw his cousins so he was surprised to see some changes to them. Ryeowook is two years younger than Hyukjae. The last time he saw him; his hair was platinum blonde and had a chubby face and body. But after a year, he lost weight and even dyed his hair black; its side was cut short. Sungmin has the same age with Hyukjae but he was older by months. Last year, he was blonde and gained a lot of weight too. But unlike with his step-brother Ryeowook, Sungmin gained muscles and his cuteness had shown without exerting too much effort. Maybe that was the reason why Hyukjae's bestfriend, Kyuhyun asked him out. He was smitten by his cousin's beauty. Heechul is three years older than Hyukjae. Honestly though, Hyukjae didn't see any changes. Heechul is still handsome or beautiful, or whatever word you want. Sometimes, he thinks that his cousin was a fairy or vampire or something, because his skin is so white and he couldn’t see any trace of aging. "Wow." He started after checking them out. "You guys changed a lot." He stated, chuckling when Ryeowook bit his lips and winked at him playfully. Heechul smirked and put an arm around his shoulders, pulling the teen inside the house. "Hello to you too." He grinned, gums showing like his. "Spring break starts now."   ---   Hyukjae opened the door and saw his own room. It was big enough for two but he was fine with it. He walked and turned to his left and saw his bed, above it was a large window and you can directly see the sky. He smiled upon realizing that he can lie down on the bed and watch the stars during night. He sat and dragged his suitcase. He removed his clothes from his suitcase and placed it on the wardrobe. When done, he sighed and looked above him. Season of spring, please be good to me.   ---   "I asked Kyuhyun to come over and his parents agreed so he'll be coming tonight." Sungmin giggled happily while eating some chips. It has been seven days since they arrived and another seven days to go. Aside from road trips, picnics and swimming, it was completely boring. He wanted to rest but he was carelessly dragged by Heechul to have some quality time. "That's nice." Hyukjae replied, lazily munching the chips while he lay down with his tummy. "Our parents won't mind if you invite someone." Ryeowook told him as he ate some biscuits. "Kyuhyun is enough. He's the only one I feel comfortable to invite." Hyukjae answered as he closed his eyes but opening it once he heard a snigger from the eldest. "Then why don't you invite your handsome suitor?" Heechul teased, laughing more when the latter glared at him. "Don't even mention that guy. He's annoying." Hyukjae grun
