Foreword
It was hard to believe on how someone presence effected the surrounding. A simple smile… a soft touch… and a warm greeting… they healed. And for him who has superb brain capacity yet lack in the affection department, that norm was strange. Of course he could feel love, but it only limited toward his family members – parents and brother. Oh and by extent, his sister in law.
Outside that circle, the emotion he could muster to give was only as far as sympathy. Just like when you watch a hungry kitten tried to find any leftover food at the trash bin.
Growing up, it was what he thought.
Until her.
At first, he didn’t know if he should call himself lucky or the opposite. That he found her at such young age – they said. But looking back, he should have met her sooner. Like he should have met her since they both were in crib. So they would have more memories together… a lot more.
Looking at her lifeless form, he scolded his clueless old self. For being too dense and didn’t realize it sooner. That he missed her smile… missed her morning greeting… missed her soft touch…
“I miss you…” he whispered as he carefully wiped her cold hand. Why her hand was cold? Shouldn’t the nurse give something to warm her up?
“We miss you,” he remembered, it not just him alone. “What can I do without you? I need you… we need you… please wake up, I beg...” He pleaded in sorrow.
It had been three days that felt like three hundred years long. And for the last three days, thousands regrets kept appeared one after another in his head.
