It was 8 o’clock in the morning on a Monday and here Yoongi was, sitting in a conference room with seven other new hires waiting for orientation to begin. Yoongi hated everything in the world at the moment. He hated the clock that was slowly ticking away the seconds, he hated the ungodly time it displayed as well. He hated the bright sunshine blazing in through the East facing windows of the tall, concrete and glass monstrosity he would now call work. He hated his stiff button-up shirt and too-tight tie and uncomfortable shoes, the nasty instant coffee on offer, and the pink sprinkle donuts setting out for the new hires. Most of all he hated his life and the circumstances that led to him sitting in this room to becoming a necessity.

A/N:  

Anyone who’s reading my other fic, At Soul’s End, I still intend to finish it. To be honest, it had been so long since I had written anything that I lost confidence in my ability. That’s how this “short” fic came to be. I needed to write something to… remember how? To remind myself that I can? Something like that.

When this fic started in my mind, I was on a road trip and my daughter was playing ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ by Muse and a ‘Twilight’ (a.k.a Vampire) story grew from it. My niece helped me think through the storyline (Thank You Abby!!!) and then this fic happened. It’s my attempt to write a short story. My goal was between 5 to 10 chapters and I ended up with 10 plus an epilogue. I also made sure to write out the whole fic before posting it to be sure not to leave anyone hanging this time. I will probably do that with the rest of ASE as well.

Finally, I am once again without regular internet access but I was able to download a writing program that doesn’t need internet (unlike Google Drive which is my usual go to.) Thankfully, I’ll be able to write and then find somewhere with internet to post when the time is right.

For now, I plan to upload the whole fic today. There will be pauses between chapters as I edit and then post each one. I really hope you enjoy this fic. Please leave comments and upvote so I can see your support. Thank you!!!
