“Seungwan”

“You can’t be here. You have to go.”

Seulgi frowned, but stood firm, “No. I just flew seven thousand miles for you.”

She didn’t know where she suddenly got the courage from, but she needed to know so she took a step forward as Seungwan took a step backward.

“That day when you didn’t choose me over him, I thought I would eventually get over it. I was doing well without you. Then Chanyeol shows up at my studio and I find out that you broke off your marriage with him. Why?”

Seulgi took a few more steps forward as the other girl backed up into the door and her eyes darted to the ground.

“You left without a word.”

Seulgi inhaled a shaky breath before continuing, “I need to know why. Why did you leave. Why didn’t you say anything. Why you didn’t tell me you had feelings for me.”

Seungwan’s eyes shot up to meet Seulgi’s, “How did you...”

“Do you have any idea how I felt when you left, twice?”

She expected the latter to retaliate, but instead the girl started sobbing and Seulgi didn’t know what to do. She was supposed to be angry, frustrated, unforgiving yet, her facade crumbled the moment the girl started crying. So instead she pulled the girl close. She felt the smaller girl’s arms eventually wrap her waist as her tears seeped through Seulgi’s shirt with endless ‘sorrys’.

The two stood like that for several minutes until Seulgi felt Seungwan calming down. When she felt the girl stop shaking, she pulled away.

“Let’s sit down.”

Seungwan nodded as she pulled Seulgi towards her bed. The two sat and stared at each other and for a moment, Seulgi felt like they were back in college. She used to visit Seungwan’s dorm all the time and they would sit and talk for hours on the other girl’s bed. She missed those days. Seulgi was busy reminiscing when Seungwan broke the silence.

“When I left for Canada, I wasn’t expecting to stay for as long as I did. I came home because my mom got sick. I thought she would get better and I would produce a little music, get some experience and go back to Seoul, back to you.

Seulgi looked at Seungwan and saw that the girl was trying to hold her tears back, “She had been ill for awhile, but she didn’t want to tell me because she thought it would be a burden while I was studying there. She passed away soon after I got home.”

Everything suddenly clicked, the sudden return to Canada, the disappearance. “Seungwan…I’m sorry. I didn’t know.” Seulgi mentally kicked herself. She wasn’t there for the girl when she needed her the most.

Tears began falling again and Seulgi lifted her hand to wipe them away.

“I wanted to tell you, but every time I picked up my phone, I couldn’t think of what to say and it wasn’t just with you. I shut everyone out. I was miserable and kept busy with my work. Soon a few months had turned into a year and I just couldn’t call you because I thought you hated me.”

'I could never hate you' Seulgi thought as she grabbed a tissue and waited for the girl to continue.

“Then Chanyeol came along and I don’t know. I thought I could finally get over you. When Sunmi asked me to come back to Korea, I thought it was finally time and when I saw you I thought we could be friends again. I don't know why I thought we could pick up where we left off. I tried to make it up to you and for awhile, things were going well. But then that night, when we were cooking together…a part of me knew that I still had feelings for you.”

Seungwan chuckled bitterly, “Then he proposed to me in front of everyone and I panicked. I knew I shouldn’t have said yes, but I couldn’t do that in front of so many people. And then when I went to look for you, you were gone. I couldn’t get a hold of you until you ended up on that hospital bed. When I saw you laying there…I was so scared. I couldn’t believe that I had done that to you.”

Seulgi felt guilty. She didn’t know that Seungwan had been bottling all this up. 

“When you asked me to choose you, I didn’t know what to say so I left. I had been waiting so long to hear those words and when you said them, I froze. I went home and told Chanyeol I couldn’t go through with the wedding, packed my bags and ran. I left everything because I was lost. I didn't know what my heart wanted. Both of you deserved so much better than me, I’m sorry.”

Seulgi watched as the girl took in a deep breath.

“It’s always been you Seulgi. The one that I would have chosen again and again. When we were in college, I used to stay up waiting for you to text me back after you went out. I would go to sleep at night wishing and hoping that you felt the same way. Then we kissed and nothing. You acted like nothing happened, so I thought..i thought you didn’t like me back.”

“Wan-ah...I..” Seulgi started. She couldn’t believe that all this had happened because she was a coward all those years ago.

Seulgi reached out to hold Seungwan’s cheek. The girl’s eyes were filled with sadness and Seulgi felt her heart break again.

Seulgi bit her lip before continuing, “When you kissed me for the first time, I was confused. I didn’t realize how long I had been waiting for it to happen. When you kissed me a second time at that party, I knew I wanted you, but then you told me you were leaving and I was scared too. I should have stopped you, but I didn’t. I should have told you how much you meant to me.” 

Seungwan’s eyes softened as she looked at Seulgi.

“Please, let me get it right this time.”

Seungwan’s eyes widened as Seulgi’s lips met hers.

Seulgi expected to be rejected, but soon felt the other girl’s arms enclose her neck as her lips started moving against hers. Seulgi poured all her pain and longing into the kiss. She wanted Seungwan to know how sorry she was and how much she missed her. She knew she couldn’t turn the clock back, but she wanted to let Seungwan know that she loved her even after all the time that had passed. What started out as innocent, soon became ravenous and Seulgi didn’t realize how much she missed the other girl’s touches.

The two finally broke apart after coming up for some much needed air as Seulgi leaned her forehead against Seungwan’s. She couldn’t help but admire her face. Seungwan’s cheeks were flushed and her lips were plump. Seulgi couldn’t help but smile knowing that she had done that. She had to control herself from diving back in. Instead she put her arms around the other girl and laid both of them on the bed.

The two laid there in a comfortable silence, both treasuring the moment. Seulgi's racing heart eventually calmed down as she felt her eyelids getting heavier. She was about to drift to sleep when she heard Seungwan speak up. 

“Seul…” The girl mumbled in her neck. Seungwan had long forgiven Seulgi, but couldn’t help feeling sorry for all the pain she had caused the other girl as well.

Seulgi, understanding how the other girl felt, kissed her temple and whispered, “I know.”

Seulgi squinted as she opened her eyes. She must have fallen asleep through the whole night. Her eyes began adjusting to the light when she felt a weight on her chest. She looked down to see Seungwan's head laying on it. She smiled to herself as she felt the younger girl stir.

Seungwan opened her eyes and blinked a few times before looking up. She noticed the girl blush before speaking, "Hey"

Seulgi stopped herself from pinching the other girl, "Hey"

"I guess we fell asleep."

"Yeah, I'm still pretty jetlagged from my flight."

Seungwan frowned, "Sorry that I made you come all this way."

Seulgi shook her head, "I'm glad I did. Good thing Yeri was able to get your address from Sunmi after I tried calling you and found out the line was disconnected."

Seungwan raised her eyebrow, "My phone was disconnected? Are you sure. I never changed my phone number."

Now it was Seulgi's turn to be confused, "Yeah, here let me show you."

Seulgi pulled out her phone and opened up her recent calls and showed Seungwan. The girl took her phone and looked at it before handing it back to her.

"Seulgi, my phone number is 2356 not 2256. You dialed it wrong."

Seulgi's eyes widened. She must have pressed the wrong number by accident, "WHAT?! I didn't have to pay for a last minute flight?" She groaned as the smaller girl giggled.

"Well I'm glad you're here. Anyways, Sunmi told Yeri my address?"

Seulgi nodded, "Yeah, somethings going on between the two of them."

Seungwan almost gagged, "Ugh, I told her to stay away from my friends. You have no idea how many times she hit on you."

Seulgi's ears perked up, "She hit on me?"

"Yeah and I almost hit her back, literally."

Seulgi chuckled, "Aweee, was someone jealous?"

Before Seungwan could reply, Seulgi's phone beeped. She picked it up to see a text from her manager.

'Oh crap'

"Who is it?"

"It's my manager, I forgot I have to do a photoshoot tomorrow for Yoona."

"So you have to go back?"

"Yeah." 

Seulgi unwrapped herself before getting up and Seungwan immediately missed the warmth when the taller girl extended a hand out to her.

"Are you coming with me?"
