Queen of Kings (Hiatus)
Description
"My love, do not fret for there will be no one else I would rather die for..."
Foreword
“You’re majesty!” I turn my head, my eyes meeting the ones of my fathers most trusted men. Deciding not to interrupt the man, I let him continue.
He looks at my father, eyes frantic. “The invaders have breached the castle walls—you must flee!”
My eyes widened. I quickly look over to my mother and father, them both already having a silent conversation without me. At once they both nod and turn to look back at me. My mother, looking more collected than my father, takes my hand and walks.
Without question I follow.
“What’re you doing!?” I ask the maids who are packing up my room. I look to see my mother also helping.
“Mother!”
“What?!” She asks, looking at me with shaking pupils.
“What is going on?”
She looks back down at the dresses she’s shoving into a travel bag. I see her swallow. “You must go--”
“W-What do you mean go—“
“Me and your father have talked about this before… there are people—dangerous people who do not want us as rulers.” I feel bile rise in my throat before she continues. “This isn’t the first time this has happened, and me and your father swore to each other that if it was to happen again we were to send you somewhere. Somewhere safe.”
My throat burns as I swallow. “But I don’t want to go.” I whisper, sniffing a little.
She turns around upon hearing my sniff. “I don’t want you to go either, sweetie.” She says, putting the case down and walking over to me. She grabs my face, wiping the fresh tears from my cheeks. “But we can’t stand by and let something bad happen to you. Me and your father have to make sure you are well protected.” She finishes softly.
Even though I do not want to, I know I have to. Being royalty comes with having the burden of people wanting you dead. I have grown used to having one to no friends, and also being the only child of the MidSeo Dynasty, I am taught that people wouldn’t come for the King or Queen, but their child. All because I am more vulnerable.
So with reluctance I nod.
“Now announcing, Daughter of King Jungho and Queen Minwha. Princess--”
I tune the man out as I look around the grand room.Hesitantly I step forward. I catch a brief look around before a group of eight—nine men staring at me. Some with smirks, some with smiles, and others with a gaze I am unable to read. I stop when I see one on them beginning to walk towards me.
He bows before he speaks. “Although it is nice to have you here, I just wanted to say I am terribly sorry to hear what has happened to your kingdom.”
I nod and whisper. “Thank you.”
“I am Prince Junmyeon, and welcome to Exo Kingdom.”
I love you, if you read this. And thank you.
