The Bracelet
On Different WorldsScared.
If Nayeon had to describe what she felt in one word, it would be that. She knows they shouldn't be wasting time because Satan could be striking up his plan at any moment. She knows that they're probably no match for the demon and his bloody scythe, and yet she's holding on to the hope that they'd be able to save the universe. Save it at what cost? She didn't mind getting herself torn apart quite literally and figuratively during the war that was about to break out, all she wants is that she's okay.
Jeongyeon.
Yes, Jeongyeon -- the writer... the human that Nayeon wanted to use just for the sake of still existing as a demon; the same Jeongyeon that tugged at Nayeon's heartstrings.
Even as Nayeon sits still on one of the benches in heaven -- even as a raging amount of responsibilities fill her head, Jeongyeon was still up there. She was still Nayeon's priority.
It's been a week since she last saw the human, and admittedly, she misses her. Nayeon envies Chaeyoung to no ends because the younger one had to stay on earth, just to watch over Mina.
She shakes her head, however -- now was not the time to think about it. They had work to do, and even though not a lot of them liked what was about to happen, they had to. Her mind started to wander, especially since her two demon friends were still stuck in Satan's clutches.
She was worried, sure, even more so than usual. She knew how strong Momo and Sana were, but the way something was pulling her guts made Nayeon think that something could be wrong.
What could be wrong?
Nayeon's heart beat erratically out of nervousness just thinking about it.
No, no. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath just to try and calm her nerves. They'll be fine, she tried to reassure herself. She brought her hand up and rubber her arm, trying to train the anxiety that was eating away at her brains.
In an instant, Nayeon saw Tzuyu running towards her with a fearful look in her eyes. Her hand grasped something and she looked like she lost all feeling in her body.
"Nayeon, I'm sorry -- I --" Tzuyu looked around frantically, her hand grasping the unknown object tighter than ever before. "I know that a lot is probably on your mind but --" She choked back a sob. "Please..." She pleaded; although what for? Nayeon wasn't sure. She hasn't ever seen the usually stoic Death look this shaken up.
"What's wrong, Tzuyu?" Nayeon asked, panic starting to register in her mind. Tzuyu sighed -- a deep sigh that sounded so incredibly sad and confused that Nayeon started to feel bad for the girl.
Tzuyu opened her palm to reveal a simple bracelet that Nayeon has always seen around Sana's wrist.
"W-Wait, that's --" Nayeon started, only to be cut off by a slow nod by the other girl.
"I gave it to her." Tzuyu simply explained. "It used to be mine when I was still mortal."
Nayeon couldn't hide the shock on her face when Tzuyu told her that. She looked at Tzuyu's glazed eyes before she gulped down the fear she was feeling. "So then, why is it with you now?"
Tzuyu grimaced. Her eyes solemlnly looked at the silvery glow the bracelet seemed to emit as she tried to bite back a whimper. "I was..." She looked down towards Nayeon, where the smaller girl had just been waiting for
