Unveiling Truths
On Different Worlds“Why would she say that, Nayeon?” Momo was in hysterics. She repeatedly hit and shoved Nayeon’s sore arm, moping at the rejection sent her way by the angel. The two demons were sat on the white leather couch that was in the corner of the room. Nayeon had only been minding her business in her comfortable spot, but Momo arrived with such a dejected look that Nayeon made the mistake of asking her what’s wrong.
“What did you expect? She’s an angel and we’re demons. Of course she’d say no.” Nayeon was growing tired of the way Momo had been sulking for the past few hours. Her arm wasn’t exactly punch-bag material.
“It doesn’t matter, right? We’re supposed to be like – “Momo pauses to think of something, inhaling hard when she found an answer. “Romeo and Juliet! I can be her Romeo, you know?” Momo continues to whine, shaking Nayeon and pouting.
“Shut up for a minute, I have problems of my own.” Nayeon muttered. Momo halts, releasing her hold on Nayeon and looking at her with a curious gaze. Nayeon looked at her, praying that Momo doesn’t ask.
“Why?” Momo asks.
Damn it.
“I think I’m going to give up on using Jeongyeon for my situation.” Nayeon says hesitantly, her eyes carefully looking at the gaze Momo has trained on her. “It’s too cruel.”
Momo gasped dramatically, hand pressed against her own chest just to emphasize the way she felt about Nayeon going soft. “Cruel? Since when did you ever think anything was ‘too cruel’?” Momo eyed Nayeon with suspicion.
“I don’t know… she just looks like she doesn’t need more weight on her shoulders.” Nayeon shrugged casually, hoping that Momo would stop asking.
But it’s Momo, and if there’s anything Nayeon knows about her, it’s that she couldn’t quite read moods that well.
“Eh?” Momo yells as she furrows her eyebrows in confusion. She looked at Nayeon with such a muddled gaze that Nayeon felt a little bit embarrassed to be the target of it. “Who are you and what have you done to Nayeon?” Momo looked really conflicted.
“She’s just… something else.”
“What do you mean ‘something else’?” Momo gasps. “DO YOU LIKE HER?”
“No.” Nayeon shut her down immediately, baffled that Momo even had the audacity to ask that question. “Anyways, I have to go somewhere. Bother Sana if you want to go sulk over that angel.”
Momo pouted, crossing her arms over her chest to show her distaste and disappointment towards Nayeon. “I feel like you’re not telling me something.” Her eyes scanned Nayeon’s stoic face, just in case the other demon was hiding something from her.
“You’re imagining things.” Nayeon simply says before she disappeared from Momo’s view, possibly heading towards the place she had to go to.
“There’s been signs that we shouldn’t ignore.” The first archangel argues with the second, their expressions on their faces heated and it was clear that the atmosphere wasn’t good.
Chaeyoung had only been walking around trying to wrap her mind around that one human she couldn’t seem to stop thinking about. Her head whipped to the source of the frenzied discussion and she immediately hid.
“I know, I know. But it would be too much of a brash decision to just announce it to all worlds. We have to think about this rationally.” One of the archangels said. Chaeyoung didn’t know who it was
