It was just like any another day at the café for Hoseok. Taking orders and waiting tables, that was what he had been doing for the last two years. His employer gave him a raise and made him the manager. He was well praised for his hard work. But still, he liked doing what he started out to do, as a waiter.
His shift ended around six. He cleaned up with his fellow colleagues before leaving the café. He’d earned their respect as well as their friendships. They liked being around him and looked up to him.
“You up for some supper after this?” Lee asked, slinging his backpack onto his shoulder.
“I’ll join you guys later,” he said, “There’s something I gotta do first.”
“Off to meet your secret girlfriend, is it?” Kim joked.
They all laughed. Hoseok knew they liked to about it. Someone like him, not having a girlfriend, just seemed unreal. They didn’t know. They didn’t know any of it. He couldn’t possible tell them. They couldn’t possible imagine it, or even believe him. Maybe someday he will, just not now. Someday, he might tell them about it.
They bid our farewells and parted ways. Hoseok slung his backpack around his shoulders and started walking. On his way there, he stopped to buy a small bouquet of jasmine cape. He put the white flowers to his nose and breathed. They smell
