Extract from the book

I rushed over to the window located next to my bed and saw who it was. It was Carter. I was stunned to see him What was he doing here? Why was he here at this time? And why didn't he come through the front door? All these questions were running through my mind as Carter gestured me to open the window. I hesitated for a second and then went forward to open it. 

Carter climbed in and collapsed on the floor, breathing heavily. I watched him horrified, he was wearing a white shirt which was covered in blood so were his hands and face.
