Sometimes, Kyuhyun would wonder why he even accompanied Jungsoo into going into some adventure. Maybe it was because his brother looked quite pitiful telling him they needed to have some bonding time, or maybe it was because Youngwoon literally was seconds away from snapping Jungsoo's neck because he kept on whining and Kyuhyun had no choice but to keep his brother away from their cousin. Either way, it couldn't and wouldn't change the fact that Kyuhyun was made up of 98 percent bad life choices and two percent hate for anything that needed physical activity like some fishy adventure. It was loads of bull, Kyuhyun swore, because it was already three days since he was stuck in a remote island and so far no adventure was happening.

Unless of course you ask Jungsoo, because in his dictionary, adventure meant living in a small house made of leaves and easily breakable pieces of wood and literally having to hunt for your own food—Kyuhyun was surprised they still hadn't died from starvation and accidents because goodness ing gracious Kyuhyun-ah, I almost got eaten by a wild boar instead of us hunting the boar for some samgyupsal! Hug me to cheer me up!

(Whatever happened to civilization, Kyuhyun would always bemoan on the nights the mosquitoes would feast on his blood and give him some potential tropical disease.)

And now, Jungsoo was probably somewhere else getting himself killed by some wild bear and Kyuhyun was stuck in the middle of the sea trying to fish for some, well, fish. (Thankfully it was not garbage he was reeling in. Though to be honest, Kyuhyun would want to fish some magical lamp so he could wish he could escape Jungsoo's madness and this damned island.)

Luck was not on his side today, nor for the twenty two years of his life for that matter, but today seemed awfully his unluckiest ever.

Kyuhyun woke up to his right eye bulging and he was sure it was because a cockroach bit it while he was sleeping, Jungsoo was madly cackling because apparently he found another cave he could explore and possibly die in if he remained recklessly dumb, and their fishing net had a gaping hole on the side and Kyuhyun had to sew it back together for three hours (his fingers were made for StarCraft and definitely not for sewing, for pete's sake). And currently, Kyuhyun was under the harsh blazing sun and so far no fish greeted him or was stupid enough to enter his fishing net.

(Kyuhyun should have brought Donghae with him. The man would serve as a nice bait for the fish. He was sure his cousin would even be happy if he was to be dropped into the ocean on the basis that Donghae was finally home or some like that.)

The man sighed. He hoped his brother managed to hunt for some meat because he was not making any sort of relationship with the fish right now. A complicated relationship would've been fine, but no, even the fish didn't want him.

(He was single and he couldn't even flirt with marine creatures. What kind of a pathetic fanfiction was he in for him to be this unlucky?)

However, as much as Kyuhyun would want to ignore his fishing duties and continue with his dramatic monologue, a gentle shake of the water below him snapped him out of his stupor. With his senses alert, he gripped his net tightly with his hands before he spotted two large shadows beneath him and finally flung the net towards the shadows.

Finally, he could go away from the damned sun and the even more damned ocean after he managed to haul his net back.

Except that, he was having a hard time hauling back the net, because wow it’s too heavy, I need to thank Donghae for alluring all these fish. I don’t have to fish anymore for at least three more days with all the amount of fish I caugh—

Sometimes, Kyuhyun was really unlucky. Really really unlucky, as in the bad kind of unlucky, the one that made him want to kill himself immediately, if the merman he caught in the net didn't kill him first.

A screech was what left Kyuhyun‟s mouth, and surprisingly the merman's as well, when the supernatural creature managed to land atop him. Kyuhyun could feel the stranger's shiny sapphire blue tail madly wiggling against his legs and he was too freaked out that he shoved the merman away and scooted on the farthest side of the boat.

(Damned Jungsoo, he just had to bring the smallest fishing boat available. His brother should be fed to this merman to atone for his sins.)
