Chapter 2
4419Chapter 2: Dear 4419…
“Here, for you” Soohee said handing her a letter as Hani looked at the white envelope
“Letters from our pen pals!” she happily cheered as Hanin nodded blankly putting the letter in between the pages of her notebook.
“Yah, aren’t you gonna read it?” Soohee said as Hani shook her head
“Later” she muttered.
“Yours must be a guy, notice how plain that envelope is” Soohee chuckled as she showed Hani her blue envelope
“Mine might be a guy too” Soohee smirked as Hani chuckled pinching her best friend’s cheek.
I pray she gets a boyfriend really soon!
Hani’s phone buzzed as she looked at the message as a small smile crept up her lips
“I’m waiting for you outside. Let’s go on a date. I need to talk about things with you too”
“Soohee-yah, I need to leave okay! He’s waiting for me outside, bye” Hani said grabbing her bag as she dashed outside, leaving a dumbstruck Soohee behind.
LATER:
“What’s the buzz?” Hani chuckled as she took a sip of her coffee
“Take off your shades already, it’s just Jinan noona’s café” Hani laughed as the guy scoffed
“Being a celebrity is hard alright?” he said taking off his shades and facemask
“Being the daughter of a CEO is definitely harder” Hani said making a face
“So, have you been studying hard?” he asked as Hani nodded
“Neh Kim Hanbin, I have been studying so hard I think I might not graduate high school” Hani said as Hanbin flicked her forehead making her whine in pain
“Yah what was that for?!” she shouted as Hanbin chuckled
“Why haven’t you been coming to the company?” Hanbin asked as Hani shrugged her shoulders
“I’ve got better things to do~” she said as Hanbin made a face
“And did your pen pal write back to you?” Hanbin asked excitedly
“Why are you even more excited than me?” Hani asked making a face
“I know you got a reply, out with it” Hanbin said as Hani sighed taking out the letter from her notebook as she placed it on the table as the leader read it, a small smirk on his face as he looked at the girl who was sipping her coffee bored.
“Is 4419 your code name or what?” Hanbin chuckled as Hani rolled her eyes.
“Are you, by any chance, dating with that bus crush of yours?” he asked as Hani looked at him
“I wish too” Hani said as Hanbin chuckled
“Go up to him and confess already then, he can’t refuse a beautiful girl like my dongsaeng, yahhhh…effort EFFORT” Hanbin said as Hani made a face
“Maybe metting you was a bad idea” she sighed.
On the way home, Hani sat alone at the same bus as she looked back not seeing anyone there as she sighed putting in her headphones.
I miss you.
Hani remembered the letter as she fished for it and opened it, reading it briefly as a small smile formed in her face.
4419…,
You can call me 4419 too since I too used to ride the bus to school too, but you can call me C.B. I guess you aren’t much interested in this like I am not too. My friend literally forced me to do this so…Nice to meet you. I am a guy, 18 years. I think that’s all you’ll need to know about me.
I am also a trainee and I heard we’ll be training for a showcase so I may not write to you that often. Please root for me.
-C.B
“So you are also a trainee…” she smiled as she folded the letter back into her pocket
*Maybe my pen pal isn’t that bad either*
Like all love stories, the pen pal love story started that one fine Midsummer night, but she never knew who he was but it led her to a rollercoaster of events which eventually led to her first story of romance and mutual feelings and not just being a girl gone unnoticed by a crush.
“Soohee-yahhh” Hani cried hugging her bestfriend as the other girl looked at her surprised
“Binnie didn’t turn up even today” Hani cried as her bestfriend made a sad face
“Aww, do you think he changed buses or went away somewhere?” Soohee asked
“Molla, he’s been gone for almost three weeks. What if I don’t see him again?” Hani cried as her bestfriend reassuringly patted her back
“Uljima, uljima or you’ll make me cry again” Soohee said as Hani cried with a bunch of tissue in her hand.
“I’ll ask some of my friends if they know anything about him okay?? Don’t cry now hush hush” Soohee said her hair
“I miss him” Hani cried as the two best friends sat in the rooftop of the school, crying in each other’s arms.
Maybe me and Changbin were just perfect strangers, not meant to be together.
In the three years of me liking him, he never noticed me even once.
What was I to do without him at the backseat of the bus?
Chanbinnnie…come back to me!!
