Just A FriendShe was smart, extremely intelligent, knowing things at a college level opposed to a simple high school level, her views and outlooks always managing to impress the members of the team. Terra found herself in awe at the other, listening to her logic and reason and agreeing to every piece. She was no longer concerned about anything else, she was just thankful to have someone else on the team that understood numbers and reason, considering the team lacked in that department.
“How do you know Kim Taehyung?” Seo asked as the two began their way down the school halls, getting ready to leave for the day.
“I’ve known him since we were in diapers” Tarra admitted with a proud smile, remembering the days that their parents would force them to play together so that they could attend the business meetings. “Our parents work together, so you can only imagine how convenient it was for both parents that their children were so close in age.”
“So, you’ve known him for the longest time?” Seo asked, Terra nodding in agreeance “so if I need some advice, can I come to you?”
“About Taehyung?”
“Yes, I’m interested in him but don’t know how to approach it” Seo spoke the words that brought reality back into place, Terra’s lips pursing as she thought about the question. How could she possibly help someone else into the heart of the man she had been in love with for so long? She couldn’t…
“I don’t think I’ll be any help in that department…” Terra admitted while rubbing at the back of her neck.
“You know everything about him though…”
‘I know everything that turns him on… But I can’t seem to make his focus stay on anything else…’ she thought silently before stopping her pace and instead stood still. “Look, he’s interested in you too, so just get to know him. He’s outgoing and extremely smart though he acts stupid, but all in all, he’s just a giant sweetheart.”
“I can tell, which is why I’m interested. Most guys that look like that can’t even spell out their name” Seo joked, but Terra didn’t find any amusement in the statement, considering looks shouldn’t matter, it was the personality that should have mattered the most. Stepping outside of the school, she was surprised to see Taehyung standing outside, leaning against a wall, considering he said that they shouldn’t speak today. Yet her confusion was answered when Seo’s smile grew wider and she began her way towards him, his attention being captured as a smile took his lips all the same.
“Did you make the team?” He asked, Seo nodding and going into detail about how weird it was and how simple some of the questions seemed. Terra didn’t care about the words being spoken however, she was only focused on the male who didn’t even glance her way, nor took a second to greet her. She wouldn’t have been surprised if he didn’t even notice her standing there, watching in pure envy of the girl who stole his attention.
“Aren’t you two hanging out?” Seokjin spoke suddenly from behind her, forcing her eyes away from the couple, instead settling along the taller male, a soft smile taking her lips.
“No, he’s perusing Seo” Terra admitted, and it hurt to speak those words, but she kept herself strong, considering Seokjin was one of Taehyung’s closest friends. “Would you be interested in a walk? I want to see the process of the park, they said it’s coming along real nice.”
“Are you using me as a distraction?” Seokjin questions, and her heart raced within her chest, that was until hearing his laughter suddenly flood around them. “Of course, I’ll go with you, just give me a second to put my stuff in the car, I’ll take your books too.”
“Okay thanks” Terra whispered while offering him all of her belongings, her eyes falling back towards the couple who was lost in conversation and laughter, and she remembered at one point in time, she was the one to make him laugh like that.<
