It was raining when they first met…

 

 

 

Jihoon looked at the rain pouring hard outside, for a moment ditched his laptop and walked to the balcony window watching it dripping from the sky., he looked at the clock for a moment before his focus back to the rain, suddenly remember it was raining when they met for the first time…

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Rain…” Jihoon looked at the sky and sighed, should he just ran back home or just wait until the sky clear? Will it take a long time? Jihoon thought inwardly, on the normal day of course he would just ran under the rain but no, not when the next day he had important performance as the representative of his school he couldn’t afford of being sick. Jihoon still lost in his own thought when suddenly a big umbrella appeared in front of him

“Want to share?” Jihoon looked at the side, glancing at the boy who offered a umbrella, the boy smiled and Jihoon had to remind himself to breathe because God… the guy in front of him is so beautiful…

“It’s ok, you go ahead, I’ll just wait until the rain stops” Jihoon said flatly, he turned back from the guy and trying his best to control his expression

“What if the rain never stop until tomorrow come?” The guy asked

“I can call my parents to pick me up” Jihoon showed the guy his phone

“Don’t be ridiculous, I have a big umbrella here that can fit us both, you don’t have to wait until your parents come” When Jihoon looked hesitant, the guy added on “It’s not a hassle, really, I have nothing to do this afternoon” Again, Jihoon looked hesitant so the guy just took his hand with his and dragged him under his umbrella “What are you so worrying about, I’m not going to kidnap you” The guy laughed

“Who knows” Jihoon shrugged but walked side by side didn’t mind the guy’s arm on his shoulder putting them closer so they both wouldn’t get wet

“Where are you going?” The guy asked

“Just the bus stop around the corner, I can take the bus there” Jihoon pointed to the bus stop near them, the guy nodded and after that none of them spoken anything until they had reached the bus stop, he tried his best not to look disappointed as he sat on the bench waiting for his bus “Thanks a lot, I can take care of myself from now, I’ll see you around I guess?” Jihoon frowned when the guy sat beside him “Uhm… are you taking the bus here too?”

“Me? No, I’m taking the opposite one” The guy said after he closed his umbrella properly

“Then what are you doing here?”

“Of course I need to be responsible and send you home safe and free from water, after you alighted from the bus you still need to walk to your apartment right? I’ll send you until there”

“What?! No, don’t do that I -“

“What bus are you taking?”

“This, but -“

“Then what are you waiting for?” The guy took Jihoon’s hand and dragged him to the bus, when they finally sat down the guy looked at him, smiled and put his hand hand up “Choi Seungcheol”

“It’s raining” Jihoon stretch his arm to feel the water on it, he stood silently thinking back about Seungcheol, the guy he met when it was raining 2 weeks ago, just like the rain itself, when the sun came up Jihoon barely see the older, maybe because he was in his final year that was why he couldn’t see him a lot at school or maybe he was just his imagination on his brain, Jihoon wouldn’t surprise if Seungcheol didn’t exist in real life, he knew there wasn’t a guy in this world so good looking and nice like him. Jihoon’s hope to at least knowing the older better poofed out into a thin air, suddenly regretted that time when he didn’t ask much about Seungcheol but instead let the latter to know more about him throughout their journey. Well, if Seungcheol did exist he would regret it so Jihoon decided to erase Seungcheol from his mind and thinking that Seungcheol didn’t exist in this world. His train of thoughts interrupted when suddenly he heard the voice he missed the most calling for him

“Jihoon!” He exists. Seungcheol is alive and well “How have you been? We haven’t seen each other since the last rain and now it’s raining again” Seungcheol’s crispy laugh broke down the silent bubble around Jihoon

“I’m good, and yeah it’s raining again” Jihoon tried his best not to sulk but why it was always raining when he had important things to do the next day, he couldn’t fall sick when the practical test for their music class was the next day, his group members would kill him 

“Take this” Seungcheol shoved Jihoon a black mini umbrella

“You bring two umbrellas?” Jihoon took it and stared at it for a second before he looked up at Seungcheol again

“Nope, I only bring one and unfortunately it’s a small one, we couldn’t stand side by side again this time” Seungcheol did look disappointed if only he didn’t mention about one umbrella Jihoon would’ve blushed over what he said

“Nevermind, I’ll call my parents now, take the umbrella, I’m good” Jihoon shoved the umbrella back but Seungcheol wouldn’t take it

“Don’t be ridiculous, you need it more than me, I’m a strong guy, I can run under the rain and wouldn’t fall sick the next day, trust me” Seungcheol put on his hoodie getting ready to run

“No, you are being ridiculous here, it’s your umbrella, take it” 

“Now, now, let me protect you my small prince, take the umbrella and walk back home safely, I have to go home early today so I couldn’t send you home as usual, just return me back the umbrella anytime you want, I’ll go off first bye bye!” Before Jihoon could processed what Seungcheol said, the older already ran off under the rain with his hoodie on left Jihoon who still looked confused with the black umbrella on his hand

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Hi” As expected they met again when it was raining for the 5th time that month

“Hi rainy boy” Jihoon and Seungcheol looked at each other and laughed

“Why is it always raining when you are around?” Jihoon sulked

“I have the same question” Seungcheol bend down and flicked Jihoon’s forehead “Unfortunately I didn’t bring umbrella this time and as usual you always never bring your umbrella” Jihoon was about to protest when Seungcheol took off his hoodie and put it on Jihoon it just made the younger looked smaller with Seungcheol’s big hoodie covered his small body “Put on this and let’s run together under the rain”

“Again Mr. Gentleman I have to say I’m fine, this is your hoodie so use it for yourself, I don’t mind getting soaked under the rain since our school holiday starts tomorrow” Jihoon was about to take off Seungcheol’s hoodie when the older stopped him

“And again Mr. Stubborn, take the hoodie I have told you many times I have strong body I won’t catch cold easily, let’s stop wasting time and run together to the bus stop now alright?” Jihoon sighed there was no way he could argue with Seungcheol, he had tried few times but ended up with nothing

“Ok, whoever reach the bus stop first will take the hoodie, 1, 2,”

“Huh? WAIT!” Seungcheol wasn’t even ready when Jihoon already ran off, the older chuckled watching Jihoon was trying his best to run as soon as he could but soon he started to run ended up with them running at the same time, laughing together under the rain as Seungcheol catching up with Jihoon

“I’m tired, let’s stop” Jihoon shouted and Seungcheol immediately stopped while walking back to Jihoon “You are a cheater” He grumbled when Seungcheol reached his side

“I didn’t cheat, I run with my legs” the older explained

“With your long legs, it’s unfair” Seungcheol chuckled watching Jihoon sulking under the rain, at that moment none of the two cared about the rain anymore, they just let the water soaked their body like a child who enjoy playing under the rain they both let themselves as free as a small kid giggling together with soaked body didn’t care what they parents would say about running under the rain, Seungcheol found it was comforting, being with Jihoon is comforting it felt like he was back at home back when he was a kid free from stress and just enjoy the day didn’t think so much about what future holds because he believes his future will be bright if it’s with Jihoon. For a moment Seungcheol hold his breath because of the view in front of him, Jihoon looking up at the sky letting the rain fell on his face with eyes both closed he looked so innocent and happy and Seungcheol loved the fact that small and simple thing like this could make Jihoon happy and he was wondering what other things that could make the smaller guy happy? And suddenly he has this goal in life to make the person in front of him always happy. Seungcheol stepped closer to Jihoon and put his hand on Jihoon’s cheek, caressed it gently which brought the younger attention, he looked at Seungcheol with a questioned mark on his eyes

“Can I … kiss you?” Seungcheol asked carefully

“Yes… you can” Jihoon said before Seungcheol’s lips gently captured his. Seungcheol’s lips felt warm on Jihoon in the middle of the rain 

With the rain watching let it be our witness, that I… Choi Seungcheol from now onwards promise to always make you happy…

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“I’m home” Jihoon was startled when he felt someone hugged him from behind “What were you doing until you didn’t notice that I’m home?” 

“It’s raining” Jihoon pointed outside, the guy hummed in understanding knew what Jihoon meant “You were young back then old man” Jihoon

“You and I are only one year apart, so when you called me old it means you are old too” The guy mumbled while resting his chin on Jihoon’s head watching the rain pouring out 

“You are wet”

“I forgot my umbrella” Seungcheol said still hugging Jihoon

“That’s not the point, I’m wet too now” Jihoon rolled his eyes and turned around to face Seungcheol, the latter was grinning

“A good reason to share a warm bathtub isn’t it?” Seungcheol winked before he grab Jihoon’s hand and dragged him to the bathroom with Jihoon screaming behind him
