“Ohh, Donghae-ssi.. Why did you return so early? I told you I really don’t mind you getting a break since it’s your birthday, right?” The director greeted the actor the morning after he just told him that he may get a weekend off.

“I’m fine, thank you so much for giving me the day off but I feel bad neglecting my duties. Don’t worry too much Hyung-nim. I’ll do my best.” Donghae replies as he tries to be enthusiastic a few days after the what happened.

For the last few days, Donghae has found himself a habit that he hated. Every time his phone started to ring, he would be overly conscious about it. He was genuinely hoping for a certain name to come up on his screen but even until now, the whole week of his birthday has passed, and he still haven’t seen Hyukjae at all.

The filming that day goes pretty well and everyone are very proud of Donghae for being professional although the other actors/actresses can understand if Donghae decided not to show up as he has gotten a weekend off, but they admire his work ethic.

Since the day of Donghae’s birthday, the drama is already towards its end. The filming continues for the next two weeks and Donghae gets even busier for the specific two weeks. Every time it gets tough, all he could think about is that when the filming is all over, he could go back home and finally talk to Hyukjae, because Hyukjae will definitely be there right, where else could he be. Although he tried hard to comfort himself in that way every time he thinks of the older, he couldn’t get over the fact that they have no contact at all for the last two weeks. There is no any type of communications between them and Donghae knows that the first thing he is going to do when the filming ends is to find some time to spend with Hyukjae. He has gotten over the sadness that Hyukjae didn’t show up in his birthday and even forgetting about it because if after this he gets to spend some quality time with his best friend, then that is what Donghae is willing to let go of.

The day of his final filming, the younger decided to call Leeteuk Hyung asking for Eunhyuk’s schedule that day. He breathes a sigh of relief as the other seems to end quite late as well. It’s the perfect schedule he thought as he will finish at the same time right after the staffs’ final dinner. Donghae is actually exhausted, the last two weeks, all the drama crew are rushing to keep up with the schedule of the airing time, would skip many meals or sometimes go for a few days in a row without proper sleep. He doesn’t mind though if he needs to stay up late again for that day, because he can finally meet Hyukjae, the one he misses the most.

Super Junior’s Dorm

Donghae actually arrives earlier than the expected time as the wrap up dinner party ended sooner than he thought. Staring at the windows of the balcony, it’s the end of the year already and he couldn’t grasp that time seems to fly by quickly. The dorm is fairly quiet as most of the members are not home yet by this time. The clock hanging on the wall showing that it’s midnight in Seoul. The temperature dropped drastically Donghae thought as he stared over Seoul’s skyline. He was just staring into the blinking lights of the view in front of him, when the sound of creaking door can be heard behind him. His heart beats faster for a second knowing whose footsteps it belongs to as the person enters the room. Still looking good as per usual Hyuk, Donghae thought. With the person standing right in front of him now, he just realized how much he has missed the other. He missed the feelings of being in his warm embrace and hearing the other simply calling him with his nickname, Hae.

“Hyuk..” Donghae said softly as he takes a step closer towards the other.

Donghae frowns when he caught the other’s eyes and yet as their eyes meet, Eunhyuk didn’t even reply him. He stays silent and ignored the younger as he escapes to their shared room. Donghae frowns at the unusual behavior that the dancer is showing. Eunhyuk is never like that, he has always been the one who is caring and loving especially towards him. Trying to brush it off, he follows the other to the room.

“Hyukkie..” Donghae tries calling him once again.

“What do you want?” Eunhyuk sneered at the younger. Eunhyuk wouldn’t look the other in his eyes because then he knows that he wouldn’t be able to be mean towards the other. I’m dating Ji Eun right now, no one matters anymore. I should stay loyal to her. Eunhyuk keeps on repeating the sentences in his head like a mantra.

“Hyuk, why are you on your own, where is Leeteuk Hyung and Shindong Hyung?” Donghae asks trying to bring up a topic of conversation.

“Heechul hyung took them out.” Eunhyuk said in a flat tone.

“Hyuk… what happened? Why are you so cold towards me?” Donghae asks the other softly. Tears are threatening to spill from his eyes, he really doesn’t understand why Eunhyuk is behaving this way.

“Nothing, I’m fine. I’m just no longer have the energy and time to play around with you Lee Donghae.” Eunhyuk harden his gaze and give a mean look at Donghae’s face. He’s not someone I suppose to like, he doesn’t care anymore anyway. I have Ji Eun.
