“Alright everybody, let’s all take five!”

The director screams that we have a five minute break. I sit on the folding chair with my name on it. Someone rushes to me with a bottle of water asking, “Do you need anything else?” Occasionally, this same person will bring me my phone along with the bottle of water and say, “Someone texted you while you were taping.” Another young woman would approach me to retouch my makeup. I’d always fan myself with my script or my hand as the lights all around us would always make the air feel warmer than it actually is.

I’m officially an actress now and this has been my routine for 2 months.

Honestly, I don’t understand how I ended up here. I came to Korea a year ago to pursue my master’s degree for International Korean Studies. When I first got here, there were three things I didn’t expect: One, I didn’t expect to be famous because of something I wrote just to pass the time. Two, I definitely did not expect to become an actress of a drama based on that something I wrote to pass the time. And three, I most absolutely, definitely, without a doubt did not expect to meet and get the chance to be constantly around the man of my dreams.
