I love you to the extent that it hurts;
I love you to the extent that it hurts;
Without even being able to stop the taxi and make a promise,
Everytime you loosen our entwined hands,
I tried to hold onto the warmth,
Everytime I think I’ll be able to meet you,
My heart dyes with a beautiful shade.
Even the common things turn into memories when we’re together
Even your voice, even those fragile shoulders,
Even your eyes are not mine,
No matter how much I am by your side,
My feelings won’t come true unless I destroy your future,
One moment’s dream; I love you to the extent that it hurts,
But tonight is ending.
I walk the shimmering streets,
Trying to cover the times we can’t meet,
Your playful smile, after our hands had met for the first time,
Keeps reviving in my memories.
I want to embrace you; I want to embrace you tightly,
Yet you are not mine; my broken heart,
I want to embrace you but I cannot,
I want you to the degree that it’s overflowing, that it’s melting,
Without even being able to stop the taxi and make a promise,
You wave your hands.
Even your voice, even those fragile shoulders,
Even your eyes are not mine,
No matter how much I am by your side,
My feelings won’t come true unless I destroy your future,
One moment’s dream; I love you to the extent that it hurts,
But tonight is ending.
He was standing near the balcony while looking at the beautiful scenery in front of him. He has been in Japan for almost two months now. After talking to his parents, he decided to take over the former manager position at the country. He wanted to. He wanted to busy himself with works.
He couldn't stop from thinking about her. It killed him everytime he had to wake up, being alone, without his loving wife besides him. It killed him when there’s no one to wait for him at the house. He doesn’t even feel like going back home anymore. That’s why he moved out from their house last month, before going to Japan.
The cold air made him shivered a little as he closed his eyes and took a deep breathe before exhaled. He laid down at the nearest couch before closing his eyes once again, with both of his arms embracing his own body.
“Oppa, look. It’s so beautiful, don’t you think so?”
“Oppa, how is my cooking? Delicious?”
“Oppa, come back home early, I miss you.”
“Oppa, do you remember this ring? The one that you gave to me, I love it so much.”
“Oppa, Yaho misses you. Don’t over work eo.”
“Hoya oppa, I love you.”
The memories with her attacked his mind repeatedly as he clenched his hands and bit his lower lips suppressing his emotions. A tear escaped from his eyes as he slowly got up and walked inside of the bedroom.
“Are you ready to go home?” The young lady spoke.
“I guess so. It’s been so long.” He casually replied.
She chuckled.
“Because you are too stubborn, that is why.”
“What do you mean?”
“Oh, you know what I meant Lee Howon. Anyways, I want to get something for breakfast. Do you want something?”
“Umm, it’s okay.” He smiled, politely declining the offer.
“Okay then.”
“Wait, I changed my mind. I want a sandwich and a bottle of mineral water please.” He semi- shouted as the young lady was already drifting away from the place they were seating just now.
The young lady nodded while doing the ‘okay’ gesture and she smiled to him before disappearing in the large crowd.
Thanks Eun Hee ah for being here with me.
