The softness of the sunlight dances on her skin, the grass damp beneath her fingers. The clouds happily make room for the sun, the light strong yet delicate upon the clearing. A beautiful sight. People often forget that beauty comes with simplicity, an inseparable pair, at least Seulgi thinks so. The forest is filled with many simple features, vegetation, animals, it’s a place where life blooms and grows, slow and steady, no rush, there is no beauty in rushing. Is there anything more beautiful than life itself? Seulgi wonders. Her mind drifts to Irene, she thinks about soft brown eyes and plump red lips and a gentle smile. She thinks about how merely a few days ago the girl took her own life, and her heart clenches with something familiar. She takes a deep breath and stands up before her thoughts go to places she didn’t want them to go.
Seulgi realizes that the lead had already made the shape of Irene’s beautiful face too late. The pencil moved on its own before she even knew what she was drawing.
