“SinB, I’m telling you. Don’t you dare kiss her.” Jungkook’s stern voice echoed throughout the whole house because of the sight that welcomed him upon going down from the room. It was Sunday night, and his wife’s sister decided to sleepover without even asking for approval. It wasn’t planned anyway. It’s just that she was in awe after being asked to look after his daughter that she didn’t want to let go of her even for a single second. She firmly believed that Yoojung likes her so much the moment the latter’s small and cute hand wrapped around the tip of her index finger while she was asleep, which unbeknownst to her was just a baby’s natural response to that certain stimulus.

“Why can’t I?” Her teasing voice earned a snort from the older. Jungkook took the last few steps of the stairs, heading to the living area, and sighed when SinB just ignored his action and just proceeded to stare at the sleeping five month-old baby as if she’s not doing it for the whole day already. 

“It’s good that she didn’t cry. Considering that you were smiling at her like an idiot, I would cry out loud if I was in her position.” 

“She was always looking at me with open. Guess I’m just too pretty that even your kid is mesmerized.” Jungkook scoffed and just let himself casually fall into the couch. Yes, he’s annoyed, but half of his heart tells him that he’s also thankful that SinB took good care of Yoojung as he was worried about his unfinished paperworks.

Wait.. Is it because of that? Or he’s just in a state of panic after being left alone to take care of the kid? Sure he knows how to make some milk, change the baby’s clothes, change her diaper, wash her up, hold her and play with her, put her to sleep with his calming voice, and even handle her playfulness especially when she’s in the mood to jump on his thighs. But, there’s one thing he can’t handle: her tantrums. Unfortunately, the kid grew up with Yuju’s company because of the fact that he’s the one who goes to work to provide for the family, and the only thing that can calm her down is her mom’s high notes. 

Yes, you read it right. 

And just in the morning before SinB arrived, he was by himself dealing with it, and he’s completely aware of his child’s weird antics. He can’t reach those high notes for pete’s sake! So, as awkward and unbelivable as it may sound, he called his wife and asked her to hit some high notes over the phone. It was a mess and embarrassing situation, to be honest, but he can’t imagine the embarrassment his wife has to face after doing it at his office. She left some notes to remember by the fridge though, and it somehow helped him deal with their child for a few hours.

Where exactly is Yuju? She was called by Jungkook’s father to be introduced to his business partners as his beautiful daughter-in-law who gave joy to his and his wife’s life despite their growing age. There was a huge thanksgiving party for the success of the current release of new products, and the man thought that it was also the best time to get the people familiar of the company’s future holders. He already introduced his son to them when he was still in college and he sure knows that it is better for Yuju to go alone. 

The Choi-Jeon Company has a lot of investors and business partners to begin with, and it was indeed hard to greet them all with warm smiles in high heels. Yuju was beyond exhausted. She plopped down at the car’s backseat and fell asleep on her way home. It’s already 9 to be exact, and God knows how thankful she is that the party started early and ended exactly on the time she wants to go home. She felt that the car stopped and opened her left eye. Thank the good Lord. But her heavy eyelids just don’t want to be disturbed with their good rest. She heard his in-laws’ driver calling her but she didn’t move until there was silence. Then, she felt being carried from the backseat, and her back landed on something soft.

Finally, she opened her eyes and was greeted by her husband’s gaze. He smiled at her but she felt another presence. 

It was SinB. 

“SinB-yah, it’s already 9. Go to the guest room. It’s time to sleep.” With a ‘heavy’ heart, the younger followed her sister’s order. She can’t do anything with it though, unless she wants to be kicked out of their house in this time of the day. Yuju became so different after she gave birth. She became a matured woman from a broken girl who can’t even get a hold of her life together. Despite of her grumpiness and annoying attitude, SinB is still prouder of the thought that she changed because it was for the better after all. SinB put the sleeping kid from her arms to the crib by the window and made her way to the said guest room near the house’s kitchen beside the storage room.

“How was your day, dear?” Yuju was a bit startled with Jungkook’s sudden question as he fixed the child’s sleeping position. “SinB is a headache.”

She chuckled after hearing her husband’s remarks. “Just deal with her. You should be thankful I called her to help you with Yoojung.”

“I am, babe. I truly am.” Yuju doesn’t seem to know if there was a hint of sarcasm but she just laughed it off anyway. She knows what SinB can do for that kid has a soft side for babies. “Hey, you haven’t answered my question yet.”

“I’d be lying if I would say it was good.” It was Jungkook’s turn to laugh at what his wife has said. He was expecting it though. He even readied a paracetamol and a glass of water in case she’s experiencing headache. 

“Damn, Kookie. I’m so tired.” That came out like a complaint rather than a statement. She fixed her position on the couch with her head restlessly laid on the couch’s headrest. Her hair was sprawled all over her face up to her shoulders with her fringe almost leaving her forehead, eyes closed, and lips slightly parted. Jungkook stifled a chuckle upon seeing her in that state. He approached her and kneeled in front of her, making the latter’s forehead crease in confusion. She then felt his soft fingers in the strap of her high heels. Jungkook gently removed them off her feet and chucked it off somewhere under the center table. Then, he proceeded to massaging her swollen and reddish feet, pressing her heels in the process. While doing this, his gaze is fixed towards her as they were englufed in a calming silence.
