"How do you know if a heart is alive?" Nayoung's footsteps stop at the sentence. She turns around and glance at the television, wondering what her mother was watching. She sees a newborn infant, with something beating lively and actively in the tiny body. Her ears go deaf for a moment until the screen blanks to a white and a logo is shown. 

"Trust us," she hears the television and instantly forms an 'o' shape. It's an insurance advertisement, she laughs internally, though she's not sure what she's laughing at. 

Maybe it's how insurance companies always make their advertisements so deep. But something tells her that it's because she reacted way more than she actually needed to that sentence.
