I'm stuck between four walls and there's nothing I can do about it. It's always like this on the military base. I can't go out after dark and I'm not allowed to open my window without asking first. The room is filled with dust, silence, and anger. Anger towards my mother for marrying my American stepfather. Anger towards my stepfather for locking me up in a military world. Anger towards my biological father for dying so soon.

Happiness isn't far away. It simply doesn't exist. Nothing exists in my life other than these four walls in front of me. If happiness were real, he and I would have met already. Unfortunately, that will never happen. Happiness is a unicorn, and I'm living in the real world. The real world is filled with tears, terror, and tragedy. This world that I've always known has never been bright. The sky is now forever gloomy and the grass is pale and dead. I see nothing but concrete and buildings from outside of my window, the window I cannot open. 

Sometimes a group of sparrows comes around and nests themselves into the dead tree beside my window. They are always on watch, careful, because their nest is no longer covered by leaves. They do not know these four walls that I do. They are out in the open and their shelter is shelter-less. It's not a problem for them however.
