She has officially come to his world and she doesn’t know what to make of it. Sure, it was her idea to go one but it was his choice on which nightclub to go to – since Jieun is more on the inexperienced side when it comes to going to one (she could count the number of times she went to one with just one hand). He decides to go for his favorite nightclub in Itaewon – it’s relatively close to both his and her place, and unlike most of the clubs his peers prefer to go to, this one does not have a proper dress code so t-shirts and jeans are perfectly acceptable.

She never thought that this would be where she ends up when she started her day. She doesn’t know how and why the idea has even come to her head, other than wanting to celebrate her victory for almost finishing her album. Is it because of him? Because even though there is a high probability that he is not interested, she still wants to impress him? She mentally shakes her head. She does not want to be that kind of girl – that girl who would change 180 degrees of herself just for a guy. No, her conscience disagrees. This is not because of him. This is for herself. Because she’s tired. Tired of watching her every move. Tired of thinking about the public who might be watching her every move. Tired of thinking of all the negative what-ifs if she does screw up. It’s just so tiring. For once, just for tonight, she just wants to it and let loose and not think about the consequences.

“Are you okay?” he asks her, searching for any meanings in her eyes and see if she is regretting her decision. This is way out of her comfort zone after all.

“Of course. Why wouldn’t I be?” And that is the truth.

Just like any other times he went here, it is jam packed with people. Even though the place is on the smaller scale when compared to the others, it is still one of the popular nightclubs in Seoul. It’s because of its chill, no-frills vibe. It also helps that the people who go there tend to mind their own business and just want to have a good time, hence why celebrities often party there. It’s the escapism. The normality they long for in their crazy intense lives. It’s why he loves this place and why this is his favorite. So to bring her here with him, it is like showing a part of him to her. Judging from her reaction, she seems to like it as she bobs her head lightly grooving to the music as they make their way to the tables.

Just when he thought he could escape from reality, he spots Seungri at his intended destination with several beautiful ladies surrounding him. And it seems like the maknae himself has also spotted the pair from where he is.

“Hyung!” Seungri shouts, signaling them with his hand to come over. He stands and comes to give the leader a brotherly hug. “It’s been a while.” And it’s true. It’s been quite a while since the two have really met each other – the last being during the dinner for Seunghyun hyung’s army enlistment. They are just too busy with their own lives, dealing with their own solo activities – there has not been much chance for them to really sit down and just catch up as bros.

“Shouldn’t you be in some other nightclub in Gangnam? I thought this isn’t your scene,” Jiyong jokingly says while reciprocating the hug.

“I’m thinking of expanding my nightclub business ventures, just considering whether this kind of place is worth investing.” Ah, always the business-like mind. He could never catch up with all the possible crazy ideas the panda has for his business – when Seungri told them about his possible waffle business, all the other members were seriously questioning his judgment… like did he have a momentary lapse of judgment? Since when is he interested in waffles? “I see you have brought a lady friend here, hyung. Jieun ah, didn’t expect you to be here.” He smirks.

“Hello, oppa,” Jieun awkwardly bows to Seungri.

“We just finished recording a song together and this girl suddenly feels like clubbing,” Jiyong explains.

“Ah, I see. By all means, join the party. It’s my treat!” He welcomes them to the table. He asks one of his companions to make some space for the pair to sit. “So Jieun…“ diverting his attention to the lady “it’s been a while since this oppa saw you. How have you been doing? I see that you’ve been active lately with dramas and things.”

“Haha, I’m doing fine thanks. Just a little bit busy with preparing for album and stuff,” she answers.

“And I see you that you’re now collaborating with hyung here, wow. So who’s going to be the next Bigbang member you’re planning to collaborate with? Definitely Taeyang right?” referring to her old crush for that certain member.

“Hmm, I don’t know oppa. I think I might want to collaborate with you again,” she playfully replies, giving him her playful smile. Even though not many people know about this since they didn’t really promote it, they have collaborated before for Seungri’s first album with the song ‘I know’. It took him ages for him to get her to collaborate – he had to wait for her for 3 years before he could ask her to do a featuring in one of his songs. “Anyways, I feel like dancing,” she suddenly remarks. “Want to join?” Even though she addresses it to everyone, she is specifically looking at Jiyong for an answer. Please say yes.

“I think I’ll pass for now,” says Jiyong.

She turns to others, slightly disappointed with his answer. She is hoping that the others would agree to her invitation.

“We’ll join you!” one of the girls beamingly says, with the others agreeing to it happily as they nod their heads. The girls turn to Seungri, asking if he wants to join but Seungri just shakes his head and says, “You girls just go ahead.”

“Great, come on girls!” she gives them all high-fives before heading to the dance floor with them, leaving the boys at the table.

“Aren’t you going to make a move on her?” Seungri asks. “I saw the way you look at her, hyung so don’t try deny it.”

Jiyong did not expect that to come up. It’s not that he does not expect that Seungri to ask such questions (Seungri would be the type to ask such bold questions), it’s just that he himself has been asking that the whole night. To hear it from someone else feels surreal. But honestly, should he? He already likes the way it is with Jieun, how easy and uncomplicated it is between them. So why mess up something that is already so good? He knows why though. Because deep down, he wants more. He yearns for more. He selfishly just wants her to himself. But at the same time, he does not want her to get hurt. There’s a reason why his past relationships are a failure and God, he couldn’t bear to lose her. Not now. Not ever. “I don’t know…”

“Oh come on, just go for it. You’re single, she’s single. What’s there to think about?”

“I mean, I like the way things are between me and her. I just don’t want to mess things up,” he answers truthfully.

“Hyung, I don’t know why you’re suddenly having phobia over this but this is an opportunity. Girls like her, they don’t just come into someone’s life all the time. How would you feel when you decided to pursue her but then she is already taken?”

Hearing that makes him realize the other possibilities. What if she is taken? It brings back the memories from two years ago. The only difference between then and now is that then, he only wanted her as a rebound. Someone he could just ed with after Kiko. So even if she was taken then, he wouldn’t be upset with it. But now, he could sense the regret he would feel for wasting such opportunity. The what-ifs would linger around his head like there’s no tomorrow. It’s a 50-50 thing: to take it or not to take it? “You know what? I’m going to dance,” he decides, realizing that life is too short to ponder about the negative possibilities when there is a chance that they wouldn’t happen.

He heads to the dance floor, searching for the girl who has been on his mind. And there she is, in the middle of the dance floor, looking effortlessly beautiful as she dances the night away. It is so different from the way she danced in Infinite Challenge two years ago: then, she was too self-conscious and worried too much about how the others would think about her limited dancing skills; now, she just looks so free it makes him feel happy inside.

He comes closer to her. She notices his arrival and invites him to dance with her with her moves. They sway to the music, matching their rhythm with the fast-paced music that has been playing in the background. But as the beat becomes quicker and quicker, they find themselves getting closer and closer to each other. And that’s when he can easily take a good look at her.

He looks into her eyes and he could see the longing behind them. 30 cm.

He could feel her hands on his shoulders, slowly pulling him closer to her. 20 cm.

He touches her face, feeling her hot breath in the air. 10 cm.

He glances at her luscious lips, desperately wanting to feel them. 7.5 cm

He leans in closer to her. 5 cm.

He closes his eyes just before their lips touch.

And that’s when he could taste her, that sweet heaven, in his mouth.
