Harbour ViewI had managed to stray away from that side of the limelight for years. I was content with who I was. I was content with the image that had been paved for me the past years. The angel, the goody two shoes, the quiet one. It had never occurred to me that I was the only not going out to all these celebrity events and parties. Where Tiffany, Taeyeon, Yuri and co. were closer to the lifestyle of the “true celebrity”, I preferred intimate small gatherings with loved ones.
But there were several times throughout my career where it was inevitable that I was vulnerable to wild social settings. I.e each of our members’ birthday parties; especially Tiffany. She loved the whole charade of “let’s go clubbing” and the “house party” business she was accustomed to. And it was at such event where I had met him for the first time.
I remember hearing him asking Tiffany, “Tiff, can you introduce me to your younger member there?”.
And I remembered that his motives all were leading to . And Tiffany could see this as well so she jokingly refused, “No, Ji! You are not getting anywhere near Yoona, she’s an innocent one!”

“Yeah but you love me still don’t you Tiff? Happy 23rd birthday!” he had joked giving her a peck on the cheek before turning back towards the dance floor of the club.
I remember just feeling awkward, me having never been experienced to this kind of atmosphere.
“Yoona, let’s go dance!” Yuri had cried out to me.
I had refused, kindly but firmly.
“Oh come on, open up! Use those hips honey!” she exclaimed grabbing my arm and draggin me to the dance floor.
Then your eyes locked on mine. And as if I was some sort of prey, you approached me cautious but urgent at the same time.
“Yul, introduce me to your fellow member please,” he said to Yuri.
“This is Yoona! Yoona this is Jiyong! Hold up I’ll let you two talk and dance, I need to go find Youngbae!”
“Yul!” I shouted out after her.
“So Yoona, I’ve never seen you with the other girls before? What happened to team bonding?”
“I prefer team bonding in more private, quieter and intimate spaces,” I replied back.
“You seem to be a little scared of me.”
“A little.”
“There’s no need to be,” he said taking one step closer towards me.
