“I do.”

It had taken only two little words for her entire life to change. Nayeon had never expected Mark to pop the question so soon let alone answer him with her full confidence. Funny, things seem to never go according to plan. Her thoughts were interrupted however as she felt something cool slide onto her finger before being engulfed into a loving embrace from her boyfriend, now fiancé.

“Sorry to spring it on you so suddenly I just thought that since you’re already moving in why not ask now?” Nayeon giggled as she watched her normally collected boyfriend ramble on for a bit. He held both of her hands and looked into her eyes as if she was his world before continuing. “I just wanted to say thank you, you have no idea how happy this makes me.”

“You’re not the only one who’s happy you know?”

Mark chuckled at her response before putting her luggage into the back of his car and opening the passenger side door for her. It was moments like these that reminded Nayeon why she was so in love with Mark. He was a gentleman, handsome, successful, smart and charming albeit a little traditional, in other words, he was the total package. Sometimes she couldn’t help but wonder if she truly deserved him but during their five years of being together, Mark had helped resolve her doubt every time without noticing.

Nayeon was actually really surprised when Mark’s parents were more than accepting of their relationship. Secretly, she had expected them to not approve since he was a wealthy heir to the family business group while she was just an ordinary school teacher. Her moving in was welcomed too since Mark had secretly discussed his proposal plan with his parents beforehand and the fact that both of Nayeon’s parents had already passed on only made his job of getting permission faster.

As they arrived at the family home, Nayeon noticed that the place was much larger than she had expected. Sure, she had known her fiancé’s family was rich but a mansion on the border of the city wasn’t what she had in mind. She couldn’t help but look around with her chin on the ground as Mark carried her bags and guided her to the front door. Upon hearing Mark laugh at her expression, she snapped out of her reverie and pouted at him.

A couple of sharp knocks on the front door was it took before a young girl dressed in a maid outfit greeted the couple.

“Welcome back young master Mark. Here, let me carry those in for you.” the girl reached for the bags and displayed strength that did not match her youthful look. She was about to head into the house when her eyes found Nayeon’s and gave her an almost creepy grin. “You must be Miss Im, I’ve heard lots about you from the young master.” She quipped while Mark gave the blushing Nayeon a smile.

“Just call me Nayeon, ‘Miss’ is too formal for my liking.” She replied once her blush had settled down.

“Alright then nice to meet you Nayeon, I’m Dahyun.” She grinned again as she stuck out a foot. “Sorry, my hands are kinda busy.”

Nayeon awkwardly shook her foot with her own and that seemed to make the maid grin wider while Mark tried to hold back a laugh at their weird greeting. Once everyone was back to standing on two feet, Dahyun guided the two into the house before bowing and heading off to drop Nayeon’s belongings into the room that Mark had assigned to her.

“You’ve already met mum and dad so that’s fine, but I forgot to tell you that my little sister and her friend are staying with us too since they just came back from overseas.” Mark said with an apologetic smile on his face.

“Hey, no need to be sorry. I’m sure I’ll like them too. The apple doesn’t land far from the tree right?” Nayeon reassured as she placed her hand on his cheek.

“Right.” Mark then placed his hand over her own before leaning down to kiss her softly. They broke apart with their foreheads still touching, wanting to prolong the moment that they shared. It wasn’t anything special, no butterflies or loss of breath but Nayeon still liked it. Their moment however was shortly ruined when a squeal echoed through the halls.

“Mark.”

The couple sprang apart only to find two people staring at them, one had a stoic
