Si Cheng is sitting alone in a small café in Seoul. It has been nearly two years since he left home to study in a foreign country. Though he’s been staying here for quite a time, yet he just still doesn’t know the way very well. Just like finding this café, he had to go around for quite an hour. Thinking of this, Si Cheng quietly lets out a sigh. If it was 6 months ago, maybe he didn’t have to waste time finding just a small café like this. Shaking his head, as if to shrug off this thought, he told himself that they were no longer together as before, there’s no use remembering. But it’s easy to talk because they were in love for a year, it would be a lie if he says he doesn’t want to remember the happy memories.

That person is also a foreign student like him, the only difference is that he is Japanese. He was his first friend in Korea, and that friendship gradually developed into love. During that one year, that guy always surprised Si Cheng with his understanding of Seoul. Sometimes Si Cheng thought as if the other guy was really a Korean. Like every other couple, they also had dates, had their happy moments together. But then after a while, their feelings slowly fade away, and the last thing just had to come, farewell. No one gives a reason, it’s just a short farewell, and so ends a relationship. Si Cheng had thought that breaking up with someone would be painful, just like in the movies he had seen. But only when he had faced it, he strangely felt some kind of relief in his heart. Come to think of it, he laughs again, you can’t find a couple like this anywhere else, right?

"Hey, Si Cheng!!! Si Chengggggg!!"

Lost in his own thoughts, he didn’t notice someone calling his name from time to time, and not until the other one shook his shoulder did his mind return to reality.

"Jaehyun? When did you come?"

"Just got here, but quite enough to see you daydreaming."

"I’m not daydreaming, just thinking about something."

"Yuta again?"

Si Cheng is a bit startled when Jaehyun suddenly sounds serious, the fun voice back then had completely disappeared. He remembers this had happened many times before, it seems that every time he mentioned Yuta, Jaehyun would be like this, his voice suddenly dropped and Si Cheng could feel the sadness within. He really does not understand why his best friend can change his attitude so fast. But there is another thing he can’t understand, lately, whenever he sees Jaehyun like this, there’s a strange feeling rising inside. This feeling, is it some kind of guilt?

"No… I’m not…"

“He lies again.” That’s what Jaehyun has in his mind after hearing Si Cheng’s words. How could Jaehyun not know, this is not the first time he saw his friend zone out like this. During the past six months, every few days or weeks, Si Cheng would think of the memories with Yuta again. Sadly, but Jaehyun can’t do anything. He can’t confess his feelings right now knowing the other guy still doesn’t seem to forget his ex.

After hearing Si Cheng’s words, Jaehyun didn’t respond, just sits there looking out to the street. The guy beside him is also silent, which makes him feel bad about himself. It was him who broke the atmosphere just now, but he doesn’t know what to say to break this silence anymore. No, actually, Jaehyun has something to say.

"I love you."

Jaehyun was finally able to speak out these words, the words that he could not bring himself to say this whole time. He doesn’t know what gave him courage, it’s just that he feels this was exactly the right time. And so he takes a risk of losing this friendship once and for all, and no matter what the outcome, he will accept it.

Jaehyun slowly turned to look at Si Cheng, who was staring at him with wide-opened eyes. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath and continued.

"I know you can’t forget Yuta, but I can’t hide it anymore. I just want to let you know my feelings. My heart feels like broken every time you think about him but you keep denying. I hate the way you keep saying that you’re alright, whenever I see you like that I just want to hug you tight so you can cry. And…"

"You don’t know anything about me."

Si Cheng’s words made him pause. “Great, I even ruined our friendship.” Jaehyun surely thought. With the situation now, everyone will think so. So Jaehyun decided to keep silent and let Si Cheng continue.

"Yes, sometimes I did think about him, but I’m really okay, and I didn’t want to cry or anything. As for me lying to you, actually… even I don’t know why I did that."

Jaehyun laughed as if mocking himself.

"If the things you said are true, then I really don’t know a thing about you. I’m such a bad friend, right?"

"But you can start to get to know me from now on, right?"

After saying that, Si Cheng lowers his face, and Jaehyun becomes frozen.

"I also want to know what this feeling for you is, and… I really want to understand you as well."

Si Cheng’s voice is very low but just enough for Jaehyun to hear. Despite not seeing Si Cheng’s face right now, Jaehyun can feel that the other guy is embarrassed. He smiles softly, slowly lifts his friend’s lovely face up and gently asks.

"Then tell me, where do you want to start?"
