With just a few days until the official debut of Pledis Entertainment's newest girl group, Luminous (previously named Highlight), Pledis has released two official dance trailers on both their Twitter page and on Youtube to prepare fans for the upcoming date.
After a mysterious still in Pledis on their newest girl group, fans worldwide were debating whether Luminous would actually debut or be dropped by the company without an official statement, much like Pledis Ent's girl group Afterschool. Though in the midst of the confusion, Pledis' popular boy group, Seventeen, dropped their newest album 'Al1' which didn't help to ease Netizens worries and instead, made fans wonder what happened to the supposed seven-member girl group that was planning to debut. Were they being overshadowed by their sunbaes success or is Pledis Entertainment still low on funds and can't pay for a debut? These were the questions that were being asked these past few weeks by Netizens and fans alike.
However, Pledis seems to have bigger plans and right after the drop of Seventeen's new music video, Don't Wanna Cry, Pledis released the girls' trailers which showcase each member as a whole. Both videos are dance covers of two top American singers, Beyonce's Partition and Briney Spears' Change Your Mind. Just like all of Luminous' dance practices before, these trailers are both big statements among the kpop industry which we think are stakeing the girls' stamps and telling fans that, "Yes we are here and we will not be forgotten." Both dances are very beautifully executed and show Luminous' diversity in song choices and styles of dance. We hope to see more of this with their debut.
CEO Han had this to say in this press statement, "To end fans worries, we decided instead of having a long press conference, that releasing the official trailers of the girls would be the best way of communicating [with the fans]. Here at Pledis, we haven't dropped Luminous, despite the rumors flooding the industry. Our seven
