Donghae, Kyuhyun, and I came running out of the elevator incase the door decided to squish us. I saw Mr. Lee’s secretary holding some

folders showing some trainees around. When she saw me she immediately narrowed her eyes at me. I walked slower to let Donghae or

Kyuhyun walk in front of me to block me. “Hua, what are you doing?” Kyuhyun asked.

I saw her  looking coming towards me, getting closer by the seconds. She said something in Korean and grabbed me by the arms. I saw

the other trainees, especially the girls, giving me death glares. “Trainee?! You weren’t lying?” Donghae asked.

I looked at Mr. Lee’s secretary and she sighed. Giving me permission me for her to translate our conversation, I answered him. “Of course

why would I be lying?” I told the secretary. She translated it for him. The trainees got even more annoyed and started tapping their foot. I

tapped on the secretary’s jacket and she turned around. “The others are getting mad, we can leave.” I told her. “Bye Donghai. Guixian.” I

waved.

“My name is Kim Daeun. I am the supervisor for the trainees, which means I have to look after you guys to make sure you don’t do

anything stupid.” She told the group and stared down at me. I shrunk down in the group and followed.

“Are you Chinese?” I heard someone say in Chinese. A pretty girl came up to me. She had short brown hair and earrings that shined. Her

eyes were big and bright. “I’m Youjing.” She stuck out her hand. “Don’t mind the other girls. They are just jealous. They should know that

now we’re trainees we should see more artists of SM right?” She grinned.

I smiled back at the kind girl. I took her hand and shook it. “What’s your department?”

“Dancing. You?”

“Oh! Me too! I’m from Beijing Dance Academy. What about you?” I asked.

“Oh Beijing Dance Academy, so you must know Victoria of f(x)?” She smiled. I nodded. “She’s so pretty and talented. Sorry, I’m a total

fangirl of her.”

“Oh no, it’s totally fine.” I laughed. “I do that every day. She’s my best friend.”

“Oh right, I’m from Taipei National University of the Arts, from the dance departments obviously.” She answered. I nodded my head.

“Raise your hand if you need to learn Korean.” Ms. Daeun yelled.

I raised my hand and I looked over to Youjing to see her raising her hand as well. “You understand English too?”

“Of course, this group is especially for English speakers.” She said while walking into the classroom.

Our teacher, Kim Seowoo, introduced herself to the class and started teaching us a variety of Korean vowels and consonants. It was similar

to the English alphabet. After the lesson ended we were taken to the practice rooms and a complete tour of the building. We ended up in a

dance room where Super Junior was practicing. All the female trainees were whispering to each other and pointing at them. However,

Youjing just stood there. “Hey, why aren’t you fangirling?”

“Like I said, we’ll meet them a lot. Besides, I’m looking for SHINee. These guys are too old for me, even if they are good looking.” She

sighed.

“Oh, how old are you?”

“18.” She looked at me. “What about you?”

“You make me feel so old!” I whined. I stopped and look around to see the trainees and Super Junior looking at us. “I’m 21.”

“Oh! Friend.” Kyuhyun pointed at me. I sighed and saw Youjing suppressing her laughter.

“Let’s find SHINee!” I suggested, leaving the room. Her eyes lit up and started leaving the room.

“Oh, friend is leaving me.” Kyuhyun said in Chinese. I smiled and waved at him. Earning more glares from the girls. I saw Ms. Daeun smile at

me and shook her head.

My day today repeated itself. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months.  I got better at Korean. I picked up the language easily. I could

speak like a person who had been studying Korean for years, and only pass with an accent that was called “cute” by Donghae. I had

gotten closer to Super Junior and f(x) quickly. Four months have passed now and I have separated from Youjing since I skipped from

dance class C directly to A like Hangeng. After just three months of learning Korean, I passed with high marks. I took training for acting, since

Mr. Lee was in need of a actress under the company of SM and Siwon is just too busy to act.

“Sunhi-ah.” I heard Ms. Daeun call out to me. Sunhi is my Korean stage name, if I debut. Ms. Daeun is also somewhat like my manager.

“Yes Daeun unnie?” I said. I stopped the music on my CD player and looked up at her.

“Sunhi-ah!” She yelled. She looked more excited than me. “You are going to debut today. Hurry go get dressed, you’re going to be in a

CF with Super Junior. Next week you’re having another one with Donghae, Victoria, and Kyuhyun. Since I know Donghae and Kyuhyun are your favorites.”

She smiled. “Oh Sunhi-ah, I’m so proud of you.”
