city of stars

Description

in which jihye and jongin are on completely different paths (but both have dreams that might as well be unattainable), and heaven knows why they keep meeting in the most unexpected places.

jihye's not good enough - she knows this because she's spent years going to auditions and she's never made it and she's not sure she ever will. but she'll be damned if she stops before she makes it to the stage and before they see her name in lights.

jongin dances. jongin dances and he's so, so good at it. they keep telling him he could make it big - that he could go professional if he wanted. but maybe hobbies aren't always careers, and maybe all he really wants is to be an author.

a/n: literally just la la land. their aspirations are a little bit different but honestly the plot's gonna be very similar to la la land because whilst it has its flaws i love the film and the soundtrack's wrecking me, sO

Foreword

excerpt:

"just so you know," jongin says, lips curling up into a smile, "i don't, you know, like you or anything, but maybe three meetings isn't just a coincidence."

"no," jihye groans, "not this again."

"did i just hear 'that's what they call fate, jongin'? because i think i did."

"ing hell, are all authors like this?"
