Description

When you date within a gang, things don't always go peachy. Sometimes, you gotta lose your love to realize their value.

Foreword

"I already told you to stay out of it!!" He yelled.

"How am I supposed to stay out of something that endangers my boyfriends life!? You said you'd be home before midnight, but it was already almost 5! Sorry if I care enough to wonder if you are dead or not! Should I just stop caring all together?" She retorted, causing him to roll his eyes,

"Oh, don't give me that bs, Yeri. You know what I do is dangerous, and I don't want you apart of it! I don't want you to get hurt! Would you just listen to me for once in this damned relationship?" They stared at each other, anger still persistent in the air. When she said nothing else, Jungkook scoffed, turning on his heel and leaving their shared apartment, slamming the door behind him.

Yeri knew he was right. Having a boyfriend in a gang meant, you couldn't just pop in to check on how he was doing at work. When she had showed up at the office, he wondered why he had even showed her where it was. Yeri understood that his work was dangerous, she had just been worried. She knew that she had screwed up, and would make sure he knew how sorry she was. However, she decided to wait until he got home for this, instead of trying to look for him, as it might only escalate his anger.

Yeri cooked his favorite meal, put on the black dress he loved, and thought of everything she was going to say. Upon hearing the door open, she made her way to the entryway,

"Oppa, I'm so sorry, I--" she cut herself off, watching a tall man stand at the door with a gun pointed at her. Her face paled, and she stood as still as possible, raising her hands in the process,

"Sorry, Yeri, I'm not your oppa, but, I think you can help me." He smirked, shutting the door behind him and walking up to her,

"It smells great!" He began, wrapping an arm around her, "what are we having?" He finished, excitedly.

"R-Ramen... homemade..." she answered, her mind trying to think of ways that she could get out of this, but nothing popped up besides: cooperate. A gasp escaped the stranger,

"I love ramen!! Well now, don't want it to get cold, do we?" He asked, a smile stretching across his face. She shook her head, hastily, and began to head towards the kitchen, but he stopped her,

"Just one thing," he spoke, before whipping his hand around and back handing her. She fell to the floor, a cry of pain leaving her,

"Let's say, for every half hour our little Jeon Jungkookie is gone, you get punished. I was going to say an hour but... I don't think I'd have much fun!" He laughed, then helped her up,

"This needs to come off," he motioned towards her dress, then pulled her into the kitchen. He sat down at the table, and watched as she pulled her dress off. Yeri could taste the blood in , the pain in the left side of her face throbbing. She had put on Jungkook's favorite lingerie, so she felt extra exposed to this man,

"God damn... why is it always the young ones that get the good stuff?" He laughed, taking a seat at the candlelit table. After getting them both bowls of ramen, Yeri sat down, and he continued,

"I guess you're wondering why I'm here. It's only proper of me to explain, since we will be here for a while!" He flashed her a smile, taking a large bite of the ramen, "woo! This is great! Okay, anyways, my name is Mark. I used to work with got7, but they got kinda boring so, you know. Last night, your boyfriend took something of mine, something I won't be able to get back. You already know he's in a gang, BTS is pretty ruthless, or whatever. They think they are, at least. They was supposed to be dropping off drugs to my new group and I, and all was going well, until my idiot partner decided to try and get bait money. You see, Mr. Kim Namjoon has quite a head of cash on his dead body, and if you can bring him to the cops, well now... Usually, we don't do that kind of stuff, because we would all be dead! But, my guy didn't think like that. He flashed a gun, bada bing bada boom, your boyfriend is killing my guy in a split second. All hell breaks loose, and gangies are firing bullets as if they're pennies. They aren't, btw, they are ing expensive. Thankfully, nobody else important dies, but your toy has already done the damage. He took out my sniper, and one of my closest friends. I was going to follow him, and kill him that night, but then I see something interesting: you. You walk up with that nice body, looking absolutely gorgeous, and Jungkook starts yelling at you. I mean, the Lord, taketh, and the Lord giveth away, right? I felt like I had just hit the jackpot!" Mark snorted, taking a few more bites of his ramen, finishing the bowl, before looking at the time,

"Another half hour. Sorry doll face, you got a slow poke of a man," he fires a round at Yeri, the bullet going into her shoulder. She let out a scream, desperately clutching her shoulder in pain,

"Where was I? Ah, yes! Kookie was dumb enough to yell your name, which is why I know who you are! I immediately looked up all there is to know, and Jesus, why are you even with him? You literally have it all: brains, talent, beauty, and you're hanging with that sap? Jeez. Anyways, I decided, since he took something from me, I should return the favor, and here we are, Yeri baby!" He grinned at her, and she continued to cry,

"Aw, don't be sad. I've been shot before, it's not that bad! Would it make you feel better if I called your boy, hm?" Mark grabbed Yeri's phone from the counter, and dialed Jungkook's number, putting the phone on speaker.

.
.

Jungkook sat with the rest of BTS at their hideout, planning future stings, as usual. He couldn't get over his and Yeri's fight. He just loves her so much, and didn't want anything bad to happen to her. She was the best thing to ever happen to him, so he felt like he had to protect her, but he shouldn't have snapped at her like he did. She was right, he could've been dead. In his line of work, she had every right to feel worried,

"Jungkook, your phone is ringing," Jimin spoke, breaking Jungkook from his trance. Jimin answered it for him, and put it on speaker, sliding it across the table to him.

"Hello?" Jungkook spoke, melancholic like.

"Well goodness me, you'd think you'd be a little happier to hear from your girlfriend!"

The entire room froze, Jungkook's eyes widening. He looked at his phone, and felt his stomach fall at the caller ID: Yeri

"Where the is Yeri? What do you want?" He spoke.

"There's the emotion I was looking for! Looks like he cares for you yet, toots. Well now, Kookie, your girlfriend made me a fantastic dinner, was dressed all nice when I got here, and even had candles all romantic everywhere!" Jungkook felt tears run down his cheeks at this, realizing exactly what was going on,

"Let me tell you, Kookie, your girl looks great in a black dress. But... she looks even better with nothing on!" Jungkook immediately stood, rage coursing through him,

"You better not have touched her, ! I will end you!"

"Tsk tsk tsk, not nice words to say to a man who's holding your girl's life on the balance. Is being shot really painful? I don't remember it being painful, but she acted like it was the worst feeling ever. She hasn't had kids yet, right?" At this, Jungkook could feel his resolve breaking down. He didn't know if Yeri was dead or alive, and the fact that he let this happen just makes it all the more worse.

"Ah, yes, back to why I called. I am having so much fun with Yeri, but things are getting boring. We are playing a game: every half hour that you aren't here, she gets a special surprise!" The guys were already packing stuff up, ready to head over to Jungkook's place,

"Oh, you better hurry, Kookie, looks like we've reached another half hour," there was a loud bang on the other line, before it went dead. The rest of BTS swore that they've never seen Jungkook move so fast, but they were quick to follow suit, making their way to his place. On the way, they came up with a plan, and tried to keep Jungkook calm, as he was a mess. He couldn't stop blaming himself, praying that she would still be alive when he got there.

.
.

Yeri noticed that it was becoming more and more difficult to hold her head up, the blood loss from her gunshot wound taking a toll on her body. She knew that she'd pass out eventually, but was hoping to see Jungkook before that happened. She wanted to apologize before anything else happened,

"He's here! Oh this is going to be so much fun, dolly. I think you'll appreciate my little grand finale... or not... you'll be dead so," Yeri cringed at his words, but couldn't find it in her to care too much. Maybe if she was gone, Jungkook could live an easier life. At the sound of the door opening, Yeri was pulled onto Mark's lap, gun still conveniently in his hand. A disheveled Jungkook rushed into the room, his face falling as he caught sight of Yeri,

"Yeri..." he spoke, and she tried her best to give him a smile,

"Finally! Gosh, if I had never come, how long would you have let the poor gal wait? Young love... so sweet, and so dumb." Mark spoke.

"Please," Jungkook began, "this is between you and me. Just let her go, and we can finish this, Mark," his words caused Mark to laugh,

"You still don't get it? You took something precious of mine, so now I must take something precious of yours." Jungkook felt his stomach drop at Mark's words, his eyes locked on the gun that he was waving around. Yeri's eyes watched the gun, and out of the reflection of it, she saw Jimin coming up behind them. She knew she couldn't let Mark see that reflection, so she slumped over in his arms, pretending to faint,

"Yeri!?" Jungkook called out.

"Aw, I guess she decided to--" Mark was cut off by Yeri's teeth sinking into his hand, effectively making him drop the gun in pain. Jimin grabbed Mark from behind, while Jungkook grabbed Yeri. The other boys appeared, pointing weapons in Mark's face which was holding a scowl,

"You ! I knew I should've killed you when I had the chance. I--" Hoseok hit the back of Mark's head with the of his gun, knocking him out. Jin and Yoongi rushed to Yeri's side, evaluating her wound,

"Please do something, hyung. I can't lose her!" Jungkook's voice was desperate, his arms wrapped tightly around her body,

"I need to stop this bleeding. She doesn't look like she'll make it back to the hideout at this point. I have to cauterize it. Yoongi, give me your lighter," Jin spoke, pulling out his knife and holding it in the fire,

"Cauterize? Won't that hurt? Can't that cause infection? What if she--"

"Jungkook, I know you're worried about her, but this is the only way to save her. I have enough antibiotics at the hideout for a damn Army, which I will pump her with when we get there. The bullet went through and through, so I won't need to perform surgery to take it out, but I'll need to reopen the wound to check for fragments, and sew it correctly. As for the pain, yes, this is going to hurt like a ," Jin turned the lighter off, and immediately pressed the hot blade into her wound. A shrill scream erupted from her, filling the house with pain. Jungkook felt tears run down his cheeks, his hands caressing her face, gently,

"Okay, we don't have much time. Get her in the car, now!"

.
.

When Yeri woke up, she was lying in Jungkook's bed at the hideout, an IV in her arm. She groaned at the dizzy feeling she had, but Jin had pumped plenty of pain meds into her for the rest. At the sound of her groan, Jungkook, who had been asleep next to her, stirred. His eyes opened, and he pulled her close, pressing their foreheads together,

"Hey," he spoke softly,

"Hi," she responded. His hand found her bandaged cheek, brushing of it with utmost delicacy,

"Where do I even begin with you?" He chuckled, finding that he had so much to say, but didn't know where to start,

"I'm sorry. This is all my fault. I shouldn't have argued with you, or followed you. If you want to break up, I understand." she said, and he stared at her, baffled,

"Don't you dare apologize. This wasn't your fault, and you had every right to be mad. You were worried, just like I was about you. If anything, it's my fault for dragging you into this life with me. I should've known better, thinking I could get the best of both worlds. God I... I love you so much, and when I saw that you had been calling, but it was Mark on the line? Jesus, I almost myself I was so terrified."

Yeri raised an eyebrow, "you? Scared? The great Jeon Jungkook?" He laughed at this, then nodded,

"Yes, I know I never get scared. But I was scared to lose you-- I am scared to lose you. If you think I want to break up with you, you're way off. If anything, we will be attached at the hip now. That way, you'll always be safe." Yeri smiled big at this,

"Does that mean that we will spend more time together?" Her large eyes looked hopeful, and he couldn't help but melt into the innocent look she was giving him, nuzzling their noses together,

"Yes, baby girl. All the time in the world."
