“L, I saw Suzy at the front gate. She attends the same school with us.”

“I know,” L answer calmly. His mother already tells him about it. She asked him to taking care of Suzy at the school because her family just move into their neighbourhood since February.

Suzy’s mother and his mother is best friend at School. Even their father knows each other. What annoyed Myungsoo was his mother really like Suzy a lot. She wants him to marry her when they are grown up. She found his mother wishes was absurd. He doesn’t want to get marry to that loud and easily crying creature.

March 2001

“Myungsoo, look at that.” Suzy said softly at him pointing at the butterfly.

Myungsoo just ignore her. Today their mother brings them to the park and enjoy picnic together. Though Myungsoo are preferred play soccer than come here with his mother.

Suzy was holding a sketchbook and pencil on her hand. She was smiling happily as she drawing the butterfly. Myungsoo peak at her drawing and laughed.

“What was that? An alien?”He mocked her drawing.

Suzy frowned. “It’s butterfly. Can’t you see the wings?”

Myungsoo snorted. “It’s ugly.”

He can see the hurt inside her eyes. She was holding her tears. Suzy’s turned her head away from him and continue drawing the butterfly. Myungsoo bit his lip. Somehow he felt guilty saying things like that to her.
