It had been two years since that fateful evening, and Joy didn’t think she’d ever regret making that decision to accept Yeri’s friend request. (Well, she regretted it half of the time.) Now in her freshman year of college, Joy strolled down the cobblestoned steps of her university, ready to return home, recline into her favorite chair and nap until the sun rose the next day.
The plan itself brought a smile to her face. Perhaps a nice cup of tea would be nice too—
Her phone buzzed.
Joy fished the device out of her pocket before glancing at the notification from her roommate. Her eyes rolled back into their sockets.
Yeri: Dear Joy, you lovely . You left the goddamn window open and now I am covered in mosquito bites. Be decent and buy me ointment and tacos. Also, Ariana Grande’s new album.
Joy: If I recall, you took all my money to buy bubble tea with Luhan.
She still went out of her way to buy Yeri some tacos.
