Seungkwan didn't know why but he didn't mind it too on why he takes care of Hansol too much.

"Vernonie, I told you to just sleep in. You don't need to practice 'til late night." Seungkwan pouted as he wiped Hansol's sweat with a towel.

"It's okay, Seungkwan. Lately, I felt like I'm lacking a lot." Hansol scratched his nape.

Seungkwan squished Hansol's cheeks together.

"Don't think that way! You're doing fine."

"Thanks, Seungkwan." Hansol grinned.

The two of them went out of the company to go him.

Seungkwan didn't know why but he's always worrying about Hansol's wellbeing.

"Vernonie, did you bring lunch?"

"It's okay. I'll come back here for lunch, Boo."

Seungkwan smiled. He thinks it's cute when Hansol calls him Boo.

"Aigoo, I told you that you should've recorded the mixtape with Mingyu. Recording alone is lonely."

"It's okay, Boo. I'll be fine. Wonwoo hyung is going later. We can just go home together."

"But what if he finishes later?"

"Then we'll both eat lunch outside. Don't worry, Boo." Hansol patted Seungkwan's back.

"Fine, do well, okay?" Seungkwan bit his lip.

Hansol nodded with a smile then left the dorm.

"Seungkwan, you worry for him like an umma." Seokmin chuckled as he placed an arm around Seungkwan.

Seungkwan stuck his tongue out at Seokmin in reply.

"Seriously? Why Hansolie out of everyone? I mean, Chan's the maknae. Why don't you baby him?"

"He's Jeonghan hyung's baby. I want my own."

Seokmin chuckled as he lead them to the couch to just watch TV.

Seungkwan didn't know why his mind is a mess when Hansol's not home.

"Seungcheol hyung, do you know where Vernonie might've gone to?"

"He texted me. He told me that he's going to visit his family for a while." Seungcheol patted Seungkwan's head.

"Why didn't he text me?" Seungkwan frowned.

"He called you a few times and you didn't answer."

Seungkwan raised an eyebrow and checked his log.

Oh, Seungcheol was right.

There were 5 missed calls from Hansol.

Seungkwan smiled sheepishly at Seungcheol who just looked at him with an 'I told you so' face.

"Thanks, hyung."

Seungkwan didn't know why he loves learning more about Hansol's thoughts.

"Vernonie, can I sleep with you tonight?"

"Do you even need to ask, Seungkwan?" Hansol chuckled.

Seungkwan grinned and lied down next to Hansol.

"So, how was your day, Vernonie?"

"It was okay. I met a few fans at the grocery store." Hansol placed his arms around Seungkwan.

"Oh really? What did they do?" Seungkwan circled his arms around Hansol's torso and places his head on Hansol's chest.

"They asked for an autograph. One girl was even younger than Chan."

"Really?" Seungkwan chuckled.

"We really made it, didn't we?"

"Yeah, we did."

"I was so scared we were going to flop." Hansol sighed.

"Even if we did flop, we will still have each other and we can always stand up."

"You're right, Boo."

"Of course I am." Seungkwan smirked.

"Yah." Hansol laughed.

Seungkwan smiled as he closed his eyes to sleep while Hansol's steady breathing lulling him.

But Seungkwan didn't know that Hansol is also a teen. A teen that wants to be independent.

"Vernonie, where are you off to?"

"Just somewhere, Seungkwan." Hansol sighed.

"Do you want me to pack you some-"

"I'm fine." Hansol looked down.

"Is there something wrong? Did Manager hyung scold you?"

"No, Seungkwan. Everything's fine. But please, stop treating me like a baby."

"W-What are you saying?"

"You clearly know what I'm saying, Seungkwan. Stop playing dumb." Hansol glared.

Seungkwan was stunned. Hansol was never like this until now.

"I..."

"I just, I want to be independent on my own, Seungkwan. I've had enough of leaning towards anyone. The time will come that I can only depend on myself and I want to do that. I want to discover myself with my own decisions. I know you're just being a good friend to me but if you really want to help me, you have to let me stand up on my own." Hansol bit his lip before leaving the dorm.

Jihoon showed himself from the kitchen. Seems like he was hiding.

"Hansol's sort of right, Seungkwan. You don't have to make things easier for him. Let him do things on his own."

When Seungkwan didn't reply, Jihoon looked at him and was shocked to see Seungkwan crying.

"Seungkwan..." 

"I know, hyung. I know I spoil him too much. I myself don't even know why I do that." Seungkwan buried his face in his palms.

Jihoon sighed and just patted Seungkwan's back.

"He needs to learn on his own. Or else he will never learn without you."

Seungkwan just nodded.

So after that day, Seungkwan and Hansol started hanging out less.

It was worrying others but it seems like it was the right thing.

"Seungkwan hyung, can you put this on my back?" 

"Sure." Seungkwan chuckled as he placed the towel on Chan's back.

"Are you okay, hyung?"

"Yeah, I'm alright." Seungkwan smiled.

Chan smiled back and lead him to Seokmin so the two can practice on their vocals.

It was when they were buying grocery when Hansol and Seungkwan were left with each other.

"Do you want to buy yogurt, Vernonie?"

"No, I'm fine. How about you? Are you hungry, Boo?"

Seungkwan knows that Hansol was trying to lighten up the mood and he appreciated it. But seriously, it was too awkward.

"It's okay. I gained a few pounds. I planned on going on a diet."

Hansol frowned as Seungkwan looked at the milk section.

"What?" 

Seungkwan sighed. He knows how much the members dislike it when the others go on a diet.

"Manager hyung suggested I go on a diet. And I thought, why not?" Seungkwan shrugged.

"You know that we don't like it if one of us goes on a diet." 

"So keep it a secret, Vernonie."

"No, don't go on a diet."

"But I'm becoming fat." Seungkwan sighed.

"You're not fat, Seungkwan." Hansol glared.

Seungkwan just bit his lip. He doesn't want to talk anymore.

After that day, Seungkwan was about to jog in the middle of the night when Hansol came home from the company.

"Where are you going, Seungkwan?" Hansol raised an eyebrow.

"Jogging."

"It's already dark outside."

"But I don't have time tomorrow." Seungkwan pouted.

"Then do it next week."

"We already have something to do next week. The only time I have is right now."

"Fine, just don't go to empty places. Jog on crowded places, okay?"

Seungkwan nodded and left.

Seungkwan lost track of where he was that he was already in a dark alley.

"I should go back." Seungkwan mumbled.

But it was too late when someone grabbed him from the back and covered his mouth and nose which caused him to collapse.

Seungkwan opened his eyes and saw that he was in an abandoned bowling alley.

"W-What do you want from me?"

"Oh, the idol's awake." Kidnapper 1 smirked.

"Had a nice sleep?"

"I said, what do you want from me?" Seungkwan glared.

"Oh, fierce."

"Get me out of here!"

"We will after your company gives us money."

"W-What? You contacted my company?" Seungkwan's eyes widen.

"Mhm. Wait for that and we'll let you get out of here."

"Or not." Kidnapper 2 laughed.

Seungkwan felt his eyes getting teary. What's going to happen?

"Leave him alone, you bastards!"

The three looked at the intruder and saw Hansol.

"Vernonie! Run away! What the heck are you doing here?!"

"I'm here to save you, obviously!" Hansol scoffed.

"Aww, the foreigner came to save the idol. What love story is this?"

"Leave Seungkwan alone." Hansol glared.

"You mean, him?" Kidnapper 2 pointed a gun at Seungkwan.

Hansol's eyes widen and he stared at Seungkwan.

Seungkwan knew that look.

It was the same look Hansol gave him when he first entered Pledis.

It was the same look he gave him when they first became roommates.

It was the same look he gave him when Seungkwan was terribly ill.

It was also the same look he gave him when Hansol said sorry.

It was the look that Hansol was scared.

"Just leave, Hansol."

Seungkwan saw how Hansol visibly shook. It was rare for Seungkwan to call him Hansol. And Seungkwan knew that Hansol knows he's being serious.

"L-Look, the police!" Hansol pointed to a direction which made the two kidnappers looked.

It was too fast for Seungkwan when Hansol managed to throw the gun away.

It was too fast when the police suddenly entered the scene.

But it was too slow when Hansol neared him to untie the rope.

"Are you okay, Seungkwan?"

Seungkwan just nodded but soon, his eyes wides as he caught a glimpse of how Kidnapper 1 pulled the trigger at Hansol's direction.

Seungkwan turned their position around and he caught the bullet.

"Seungkwan!" Hansol's eyes widen.

And that's where Seungkwan finally knew. He finally knew why he will do everything for Hansol.

"I love you, Vernonie." Seungkwan fainted in Hansol's arms.

The next time that Seungkwan opened his eyes was at the hospital with all the members gathered around him.

"H-Hyungs..."

The members all neared him which made him laugh.

"Yah, you have the decency to laugh after pulling out a stunt like that?!" Soonyoung whined.

"We almot lost you, Seungkwan!" Jeonghan sobbed.

"Let's not pressure him. He just woke up." Seungcheol hugged Jeonghan.

"No, it's okay. I'm sorry for scaring all of you." Seungkwan sighed.

"Just don't do something like that again." Mingyu sighed.

Seungkwan noticed there were one missing member.

"Where's Vernonie?"

"He's at the other room."

"Why? Was he also hurt?"

"No, because we were afraid." Minghao bit his lip.

"Afraid of what?"

"We forcefully pushed Hansol to another room when the doctor started pumping your heart." Jun sighed.

"Why?"

"We were afraid that Hansol wasn't going to take it well." 

"We're sure that Hansol wasn't going to take it well." Jihoon corrected.

"Can I talk to him in private?"

The members nodded and left.

After a few minutes, Hansol came rushing in and hugged Seungkwan.

"Seungkwan, I'm so happy you're okay." 

"Yeah, me too."

"Don't ever do it again, please."

"I can't promise you that, Vernonie." Seungkwan stuck his tongue out.

"Why are you like this to me?" Hansol's tears started falling.

"I used to ask myself that too. But that night, it all came clear to me." Seungkwan wiped Hansol's tears.

Hansol was waiting for the answer.

"It's because I'm in love with you, Vernonie."

Hansol chuckled.

"What?" Seungkwan smiled.

Hansol answered Seungkwan by crashing their lips together.

"I love you too, Boo."

"So... you're still my baby."

It was more of a question than a statement and it made Hansol's smile falter a little because Seungkwan was still careful about it. He knows it was his fault.

"Yeah, your baby." Hansol pecked Seungkwan's lips which made Seungkwan grinned.

It was a little after Boom Boom era when Vernon neared Seungkwan one day.

"Boo, let's do a Vlive together."

"Why so sudden?" 

"I want to show off our ice cream date." Vernon grinned.
