Unexpected Motives

Description

Knowing to be a Stone Buddha, Im Nayoung is facing complications with her emotions and is sometimes isolated in their circle of friends.

Jung Chaeyeon is such a goddess. She also remains cheerful. But an innocent and mute goddess?? How in the world did that come to be?

And with the developments of both parties, things have gone too unexpected...

I got a request from a certain reader that I should write a NaChae story and i was like: "Why not?". So this story will revolve on the Stone and the Visual XD.

For @winter003 who has requested this and for future readers, updates won't be that frequent due to other incomplete stories so please bear with me.

Foreword

"Yah, Stone Nayoung. Smile for us for once."

I didn't. Even though the dork Jung Eunwoo pleaded many times, I'd never show my smiles. It's not because I didn't want to. Emotions, for me, are too tough to handle, which is a reason why I'm not daring enough to show a hint of happiness to the latter.

"No." I said.

"Nayoung-ah, you're no fun at all," said Minkyung.

"Don't care..." I mumbled, reading a book about geology.

*knock*

I stopped reading and went to get the door. I opened it and there was Kyulkyung.

"Yah...are you alright?"

"Even if you worry, you don't look like it." Kyulkyung panted.

"Here." I said, handing a spare handkerchief.

"Thanks." Kyulkyung grabbed it and wiped her sweat off.

She went to her station, with me closing the door. I couldn't help but look at the group of people with me, running around like little rascals, some by their stations prepping themselves up, except for Kyulkyung and Siyeon who were busy with paperwork.

For Kyulkyung, she had loads. A recent folder caught my eyes that I went closer towards her and checked the folder.

"As much as I have to entertain you, I'm really busy." Kyulkyung mumbled.

"Keep working. I'm just curious of this folder." I said as I skimmed the pages. "Huh? We're having a new student?"

I heard that it had gone quiet. I looked behind me and my eyes dilated as everyone gathered around Kyulkyung and I.

"New student? Is it a hot guy?" Kyungwon asked.

"Yah! You may be our Secretary but your thoughts are way overboard. I think it's a smart student," said Yebin.

"Actually, the new student IS smart. Plus, she's pretty," said Kyulkyung. "And she's coming at any moment."

I saw the rest going to their stations and arranged the stuff on their desks. Kyungwon had to prep herself to look good. I sighed and asked Kyulkyung again.

"I thought the administration deals with transferees. How come you have this transferee's requirements?"

"They're busy dealing with the new students, even the old ones. With the number of students growing drastically, they can't even handle one transferee." She began, her speedy hands typing an announcement of activities. "And by the way, you're handling that folder."

"What? Why me?" I reacted, me being stoic as usual.

"Because you're our Student Council President. The administration told me that the President should do it. Come on, Nayoung-ah, you know the process of the matriculation so you do it," said Kyulkyung.

I nodded, took the folder, and went to my station. I read at it again and made a stop on her application form.

"Jung Chaeyeon...Dec. 1, 1997..." So she was a sophomore.

I continued to read at it. Kyulkyung was right of her being smart and pretty. But when I looked at the picture intently, I almost gagged. She was gorgeous!

Looking at that innocent yet aesthetic face, I coughed a little. I couldn't help but have a little admiration towards the transferee. I also face-palmed my sub-conscience because I admire while maintaining my Stone look, just like a statue.

"I feel a presence by the door," said Siyeon.

"Usually people would know to knock, right?" Yebin said.

"I'm still feeling it. Nayoung-unnie, can you check the door?" Siyeon requested.

I nodded, doing what the Vice President of External Affairs said and went to get the door again. I opened it and heard Yebin and Eunwoo shriek. Siyeon was right. There really was a person outside.

"Yes?"

"Umm...is this the Student Council office?" A timid girl asked.

"Yes. Come in." I said, motioning her to follow me.

The girl was obedient and in less that five seconds, she sat on one of the adjacent chairs, with me sitting by my desk. "What can I do for you-"

"Yah!" Kyulkyung shrieked. "It's her!"

I looked closely at the girl and it hit me. I went to check the transferee's folder as Kyulkyung's shriek was at the right timing that I was in my senses.

"You're Jung Chaeyeon?"

"Ne. That's me. I was told by the administration to come here to settle my matriculation," said Chaeyeon.

I gulped. I never thought she was prettier in person. I heard a snort from the back, making me go back to reality. I even saw Chaeyeon giggling.

"Chaeyeon-ssi. Mind our President. She's a Stone Buddha." Eunwoo spoke and the rest of the Student Council laughed.

"Mind my members. They're just crazy." I said to Chaeyeon and she chuckled, making my insides all mushy. "Okay. Back to business."

I made all arrangements there. I made messages, calls, even video messages to branches of the administration, hoping to get this over with so that I can control my admiration.

As I was settling her form, I sensed something. I looked at my desk and there was a pack of strawberry cookies. I looked up to see Chaeyeon eating a cookie from her own pack.

"It's for you. You must've been working a lot."

She looked cute as she munched her cookie. But I had to control it and not feel dazed. Despite of that, I maintained my stoic look as I accepted the pack. "T-Thank you..."

"You're welcome." She smiled.

I finished settling her matriculation. "I finished all processes. All you have to do now is settle your payments to the cashier, give me a copy of the receipt, and you're now an official student of P101 University."

"Okay. Thank you." Chaeyeon stood and bowed. "But wait. I don't know where the cashier is."

She even added a pout. I face-palmed my sub-conscience. She was new here and here I am, telling her directions as if she knew the place well. How stupid of me.

"I'll come with you. That way, I can tour you around the campus." I offered as I stood up, fixing some clutter on my desk.

Chaeyeon cheered lightly as I her out. I heard Eunwoo and Yebin's chants but I shrugged it off, coming with Chaeyeon towards the cashier.

And for the first time in my life, I felt emotions again...all thanks to her...
