"Luhan! Yo, you need to get up, or you're going to be late!"

A loud voice is heard through the otherwise silent home.
A boy with jet black hair and eyes the color of ebony kicks open the door to another boy's room.
This boy has the face of an angel, and even more so when he's sleeping.
He forces an eye open, only to quickly close it again when the bright morning sun blinds him.

"Luhan, Luhan, Luhan! I really don't want us to be late!" the black haired boy shouts with an amazingly loud voice that does not please Luhan's ears.

As soon as he lets go of his blanket, the other boy jumps around and runs back to his own room to finish getting ready.
Luhan sits up and looks around the spacious room that he has yet to become familiar with.
He, his younger brother and his parents had moved in just a week ago, and the house is about three times bigger than their former.

Luhan finally manages to get out of his bed and get dressed before noticing how far up the sun has gotten.
No. I'm not going to be late on my first meeting. Let's go now, Luhan!
And so, he finishes tidying just in time.

"Tao. I'm ready now, what are you doing?" he asks the black haired boy who is his younger brother.

"Just give me two seconds, please~! I'm nearly done. Hey, which one of these should I bring?!" Tao holds up two bags. 
The boy is obsessed with bags. 
Luhan sighs and points to the least outstanding one, a moss green nightmare with little black pearls around the edge.
Tao smiles widely and walks out of his room to Luhan who is waiting in the hallway.

After a ten minute walk the boys reach their destination, the town meeting.
This is an event held two times each year; when the first blue flower blooms and when the first snow falls.
As they approach the gigantic ivory colored tent, they hear talking and excited laughing from inside, because today is the day where the town leaders decide the paths for everyone who is the age of 17 springs.

The two brothers walk into the tent, making most of the conversing teens fall silent.
Tao and Luhan walk across the grassy ground that is the floor, gaining both nervous and jealous stares.
Because their parents are in the town council, they have... Benefits, compared to others.

But Luhan does not spare them a thought as he makes his way to the far side of the tent, where he and Tao meet their friends Suho and Kris and a few others.

No, he spares not a look at anyone. Except one boy with platinum blonde hair who catches his attention.
What's with him? He's not a high ranker is he? So, how come he has such handsome features... Maybe his mother had an affair. 
Luhan reaches that conclusion and turns his attention back at his friends.

"Hey guys!" one says.

They greet each other, just as a wave of charismatic air hits them.
They all sit down and look to the tent opening as a tall male with short silver hair enters.

He is the towns leader, the "healer", owning the highest possible position in the village.
He steps up on a raised square in the middle of the tent.

"Greetings, soon-to-be men! I am Lay. As you all know and hopefully have been looking forward to, today is the day where I shall give you your path of life. I will mention every name here in completely random order. Please remain silent unless your name is mentioned, in which case you are to step on this stone and kneel before me." Lay tells the tensed up audience and points to a big, flat stone in front of his feet.

He starts to yell out names immediately.

"Hana!"
The girl nervously gets up, spread claps are heard around the tent.
She kneels as told, and Lay places his left hand on her head.
A few seconds pass before he suddenly yells out "TAILOR." 
This will be the girl's job from now on till she dies. 

The girl smiles widely as she gets up again, and paces back to her friends who laugh and congratulate her until they earn an annoyed stare from the healer.
"I said, please stay silent unless your name is called." he says, and the girls' laughter dies out.
Lay keeps shouting names, and Luhan shows no interest whatsoever, that is until he hears the name 'Sehun', and the boy who caught his attention before quickly stands up.

Lay places his hand on Sehun's perfectly wavy hair and the tent becomes completely quiet.

The job that Lay will now announce shall shock the whole audience.
