Lonely at the Top
Description
I wanted to write a story of power and love set in the mafia world. What more than to use some k-hiphop artists as characters in this story. And of course, my girl Yubin has to be in there as well ;)
Plot Summary
Shin Donggab(aka The Quiett) is the Kingpin of Seoul and the Chairman of the 5 most powerful clans in Korea’s mafia community. His 3-year reign as the peace-maker chairman is threatened when a fellow clan leader falls to his death. Following the unexpected death, a new clan leader, the King of K-town(in Los Angeles, US) returns to Korea to seek revenge, causing more havoc to the mafia community.
Foreword
Prologue
He watched the happy crowd danced around him as he walked nervously through them in the fancy club. Everyone was high and intoxicated but he was in fear. He did not know what would happened next but he knew it was not going to be pleasant and whether he was going to live later. The men behind him nudged him forward through the crowd. The nudge from the barrel of a semi-auto pistol hidden in the man’s jacket. He was led towards a highly secured door guarded by a dude who turned around to a door panel and keyed in a secret security code to let him and the men with guns in. As he walked through the wide well-lighted corridor, he finally reached a double door entrance where 2 more bodyguards stood. The men nodded and opened the doors to let him in.
He found himself in a nice modern arty-farty office. He was facing the back of a luxurious leather chair behind a huge desk with an exquisitely-looking glass plate engraved with words “A token of Appreciation to the King of K-Town..”.
“What’s your name, kid?” The voice behind the leather chair asked.
He was surprised at the sound of a nice voice and he did not know how to respond. He heard of the King of K-town and the stories of how the king was someone who did not have a domineering image on first encounter but was supposedly one ruthless and deadly person.
The impatient dude with the pistol knocked his head roughly and prompted. “The king asked you a question!”
“My.. my name is Jay.. I swear I did not…” he could not finish his sentence because he was surprised again. There was the myth that the King did not look like a King but still managed to exude striking aura and he found the myth was true now when the chair turned and he finally came face to face with the real deal.
