After blinking couple of times I opened my eyes and sat on the bed.

It took a while till my mind works. And then I rash to living room.

It was still there. The teddy bear.

Still on lying position that I left it last night.

Never in my life I’ve hated a teddy bear this much. I hate the time it take away from Eunjung. I hate that it always appears and ruined our moment.

But still… it was a sign of her appearance. I knelt down next to sofa and caressed its fluffy head.

“Please give some of your time to Eunjung. Can you?”

A deep sigh left my lungs.

“Qri, what’s wrong with you? I never see you as insane as you sound lately.”

Was is a mistake? Letting her to stay in my house and involving to her problems. Promising her something that I’m sure of.

Was I always like this? I don’t think so.

I covered the bear with blanket and left to get ready for work.

“Excuse me.”

I turned back to see the owner of voice. It was a middle aged woman.

“Can I do something for you?”

She smiled. “I’m kim Seo hee. Your neighbor.”

“Ah.” I reached out my hand. “I’m lee Qri.”

She shook my hand slightly. “You are so beautiful.”

“Thank you.” I wasn’t that kind to get close to neighbors but she looked so kind.

“I live with my brother. His family lives in Australia and my husband died years ago. We are alone. Let us know if you need something.”

“that’s your kindness. I’ll do.”

“Were you going somewhere?”

“To work.”

“Oh. So I won’t bother you anymore. have a nice day.”

“Thanks. It was a pleasure to meet you. Goodbye.” I headed to my car but then something stopped me.

“Mrs.Kim.” I called her whom was walking in her house.

She turned back and waited for me to complete my words.

I approached her. “Do you know the woman living in this house before me?”

“Do you mean Mrs,Ham? Of course.”

My heartbeats got faster.

“How much did you know her?”

“I just met her twice. She always stayed home. I just met her when she moved here and when asked my brother to give something to a friend of her.”

“What was that?”

she thought for a while. “A key.”

“A key?”

“Yes. She said that this key is needed to open the box. She was so weird. She said that the friend is received the box but can’t open it since she forgot to give the key to her previous neighbor. We didn’t get what she means so my brother just took the key and the letter to address but found out that she moved from there so he came back. But that day Mrs.Ham died in an accident and passed away so we couldn’t give it back.” She sighed.

I got confused. “ But why she didn’t give the key herself?”

“I’m not sure. She said something like I can’t explain it to her. She will question me.. I’m not so sure.” She looked at me suspecting. “But why do you ask about her?”

I was kinda ready for this question so I didn’t surprised. “I’m a friend of her daughter. A close friend of her. my friend is missing for two years and I’m trying to find her.”

“Oh god. So that’s why she was so gloomy.”

“Yeah. But why do you call her Mrs.Ham? it was her husband’s surname.”

“Oh really? She just introduced herself with this surname.”

“I see.” I paused for secs. “Do you still have the key? And the address?”

She nodded. “Wait a minute. I keep it with hope one day someone would came after it. today is d-day.” she went in her house.

I glanced on my wristwatch. It would be the first day that I’ll be late for work. But who cares? Maybe today I find out what happened to Eunjung.

“Here” she handed me a small package. “I couldn’t find the address, my brother would remember it for sure. But he is in countryside for work.”

“When he come?”

“I’m not sure.”

“I see.” I smiled at her and bowed. “Thank you a lot.”

“I hope it help you to find your friend. I’ll ask my brother about the address.” She then pointed to my car. “You should go or your boss will be mad at you.”<
