*I figured it'd be 'flashback' for a while yet and someone made mention that the italics weren't the easiest to read. So just pay attention to the months.

[April 2015]

BoA smiled and closed the folder on the table in front of her, looking out at the girls. "I have been so anxious in informing everyone; you've no idea how hard it was on keeping it a secret from everyone." She softly laughed. "It was even hard to not bring it up myself in an interview the other day." She smiled as everyone in the room laughed along. "Anyhow," she continued as everyone settled down, "unlike some groups, we're in luck that you all have known and trained with one another. However, I hope to learn more about all of you as time goes on. I know that none of you know Taegyu-ssi and Jaewon-ssi, so I thought that it would be good before we all rush in on packing up to move into your dorm to take some time and eat lunch and get to know one another... my treat."

The girls all stood and mumbled excitedly. Dami looked at everyone and gently raised a hand. "BoA sunbae... er, sajangnim?"

BoA turned to stare at the youngest girl and couldn't help but smile. "Yes, Dami?"

"Thank you for the dinner invitation, sajangim, and I for one am very happy to accept it. But," she glanced at the other girls, "could, I maybe call my mother real quick? I, I mean, I promise I won't tell anyone else, but I want to let her know? Please?" she asked nervously. 

Hyomin looked at all the girls and knew that they would all want to call their parents or friends too. She straightened and cleared . "Actually, sajangmin, can we all get a chance to call our families or friends and let them know?"

BoA chuckled and patted the arm of Dami. "I should have thought that myself, Dami." She turned to look at everyone in the room. "Remember to keep things hush hush, for now though, girls."  As they nodded, she turned to Taegyu and Jaewon. "Why don't we let them do that and we can get the van ready while I put the last of these papers away? We can all meet back here in ten or fifteen minutes?" she asked turning back to the girls.

"That should be fine sajangnim. We were told that we could use one of the company vans until later so I can go check on that," Taegyu said and stood.

"I'll go with him. We'll both be waiting near by the back parking lots," Jaewon said and stood to follow Taegyu out of the room.

"Thank you, sajangnim," Hyomin said and gestured at the girls, smiling. "Go ahead and make your calls. I know you're all bursting at the seams to do so. Let's all just meet by the back entrance when you're all ready, ok?"

They all chorused a yes and rushed out of the room. Han Bi and Dami heading the bunch, with a Hanmi grabbing a hold of Genevieve and Hyomin bowing at BoA and leaving last. She took a deep breath and walked out of the room but not before bowing and saying a soft, "We will be back sajangnim."

Hyomin slowly walked away and found herself by the elevators -all the other girls scattered around the basement floor; Han Bi and Dami inside the elevator. She stopped when she noticed an open doorway and glanced inside. When she saw that it was empty she stepped inside and took her mobile from back pocket. She thought for a second to call either her sunbaes/best friends but decided she needed to talk to her eonnie first.

She dialed the number and glanced as the automated voice came on. She hung up, dialed again and started pacing, wondering why she wasn't picking up since she knew her sister had no schedules for the day. When it rang the third time, Hyomin sighed and was about to hang up when a sleepy voice finally picked up.

"Hello?"

Hyomin finally sat down on one of the chairs and had to take a deep breath. "Eo-eonnie?" She bit her lip, as she heard herself stutter.

Immediately alert, Hyosung sat up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. "Hyomin, what's wrong?" she asked while moving to the edge of her bed. "Where are you? Did you need me?"

She blinked back a tear and swallowed with the sudden need for her eonnie. "Omo, eonnie, I'm sorry. Did I wake you?" Hyomin asked, glancing at her watch again. "It's already after eleven, eonnie, and no, no. I'm ok; nothing's wrong." She took a deep breath and her lips, quietly wiping away the single tear that had started rolling down her face.

Hyosung sighed in relief. "Yah! You scared me, pabo," she said, yawning and laying back down. "Filming last night seemed to go on forever." She yawned again and chuckled. "Something to look forward to, dongsaeng."

"Speaking of that..." she said trailing off, smiling as she heard Hyosung yawn again.

"Speaking of what?" she asked as she laid back down and pulled the covers over herself. "I love you, but tell me quick and hang up. My body is telling me I need a couple more hours of sleep."

Hyomin smiled as Hyosung yawned yet again again. "I... I was just told I was going to be in a group that will debut some time next year, eonnie," she said and just gave up on her tears. She knew she wasn't the most emotional of people so she knew whe'd be forgiven for this.

Hyosung sat back up and threw her blanket off of her. "Omo, omo... are you serious?" she asked. The sound of soft sniffling could be heard. "Wait, are you crying?"

"I... I'm not; not really anyway." Hyomin quickly wiped away any tears and sniffled again as quietly as possible. "I'm happy but I'm nervous. I'm also scared," she answered quickly, the words coming out all jumbled.

"Sweetheart," Hyosung said and wished she could be where Hyomin was, "it's going to be ok. Be excited!" She felt herself smiling and mentally willing Hyomin to smile too. "We both know how long you've been training and just waiting for the day you can be in the new girl group for SM!"

Hyomin swallowed and played with the sleeve of her hoodie. "About that..."

Hyosung raised an eyebrow. "About that, what?"

"Um...It was announced that we wouldn't be with SM."

"What do you mean by that?" she asked, her voice coming out more loud than she had intended.

"Well, as part of her fifteenth year at SM, I guess SM and BoA sunbae made plans to start a sub-label that would be run by BoA sunbae. So, we technically won't be SM but BW, I mean, BoA World Media," Hyomin said. 

"Wow, they really kept it on the down low. I mean, there was no talk or gossip about it at all!" 

Hyomin smiled softly that she was able to surprise her eonnie about something, since it was normally the other way around. "That's a good thing right? Anyways, you'll help me right? I mean, even more so. I mean," she sighed, "I was made leader too and so you'll help me when and if I have questions right? Oh," she said, remembering BoA's words, "you have to keep this all quiet. We were told to tell very few people and wait until BW made the announcements."

Hyosung rolled her eyes. "You're talking to me, ok? And of course I'll help you in anyway you need. Wait," she said grinning, "should I not tell Junhong? Or will you tell him later?"

"I... I will tell him eventually, eonnie. Please don't tell him yet, ok?" she asked as she heard a knock on the meeting room door and saw Genevieve wave at her to hurry up. "I have to go. We're supposed to be doing a group thing with the managers."

"Sure, sure. I will talk to you when you have time. Take care and congrats again, dongsaeng. I am proud of you," Hyosung said and smiled, feeling so proud of Hyomin.

Hyomin smiled. "Thanks eonnie. Talk to you soon," she said and pushed end call. She ran towards Genevieve with one last deep breath.

Han Bi and Dami had left their handphones inside their bags back in the trainee changing room, so had both ran to the elevator to go back to the third floor. As they entered the elevator they turned to look at one another. Han Bi and Dami both hugged one another and squealed.

"We made it Dami... we're finally going to debut!" Han Bi squealed again, jumping up and down.

"Yes, eonnie. I think I'm still in shock," Dami replied, subconsciously puffing out her cheeks but turning to smile at her over-excited eonnie.

Both girls exited the elevator and turned quiet. Han Bi leaned in towards Dami and asked in a soft voice, "Who are you going to call and tell first?"

Dami smiled. "I'm not sure actually," she said and grabbed her handphone from her little locker.

Han Bi smiled and took out her own phone. "Well, I'll just go to the roof to make my call," she said, closing her locker door. "I'll meet you back in the room, ok?"

"Ok, eonnie," She answered and waited for Han Bi to leave the room. She quickly dialed a number and waited. 

Pick up, pick up, pick up!  Dami paced the empty stairwell and softly giggled a little at the thought that the first person she was actually calling would be him. Why won't you pick up? She groaned at the continued ringing of the phone and hung up when the annoying recorded voice came on. She swiped her phone and sighed. She glanced at her phone and debated about  trying to call him again, when the vibration of an incoming call startled her.

"Yobesaeyo?" she answered without looking at the screen.

"What do you want, dongsaeng?" came a tired voice.

Dami bit her lip at how tired he sounded. "Were you sleeping oppa?" She heard a yawn and felt even worse.

"I am just leaving the house; I'm on my way to samchon's restaraunt. Appa says they had some people call in, so they'd need the extra help," Dowon said, pulling at the seat belt. "Omma already went in but I guess they need me too. Is there something wrong?" He sat up and immediately mentally tried to figure out how to get to the SM buildings.

"No, oppa. Nothing's wrong," she said as a not-so-common giggle escaped.

Dowon fixed his ear piece but actually just sat for a second. "What happened? What's going on that my dongsaeng is actually giggling?" He grinned as he started the engine.

Dami scrunched up her face and pouted. "Oppa!"

"Did a particular oppa stop by? Hmm?" He teased and couldn't help but laugh.

"Oppa!" Dami shouted. "I'm hanging up."

Dowon just laughed some more. "Oh, all right. I'll stop, Dami-ah. Now, what did you call oppa for when you should be dancing or singing or something?" he asked as he was trying to appease his dongsaeng. Now that he thought more about it, she usually didn't call him this early in the day.

"You sure you want to hear my news, oppa? You're not going to tease me again?" she asked with a sigh.

Dowon bit his lip and cleared his throat. "Yes, Dami-ah. I'll behave, ok? Now, tell oppa what it is you needed to say."

"Remember when I was telling omma and you about how BoA sunbae was starting a sub-label and that there was a possibility that she'd be putting a girl group together?"

"Yeah, I remember. Why? Did you... did you get in?" Dowon asked, straightening in his seat.

Dami nodded and out of character, jumped up and down. "Yes! They just made the announcement about half an hour ago, oppa! I'm actually going to be in a group and we'l maybe debut next year!" she shouted and then suddenly started crying.

Dowon rarely hated things -dislike a lot of things, but rarely hated- but one of the things he hated the most was when girls cried, especially his dongsaeng. Hearing her cry as if her heart was breaking made him qiet; he wasn't sure why she was crying when she should be ecstatic since she had made the group. "Why are you crying, Dami-ah?" he asked, wishing even more he didn't need to go into work.

"O-oppa... I mean I know I'm young but I... I was starting to think I'd never debut," she said sniffling again. "I've been so afraid that I'd never get to debut and that I'd be... I'd be forever waiting for the next group and... I-I don't know... I was starting to think that I wasn't good enough. And that I'd never be good enough. I-I just don't know, oppa."

Dowon shook his head, not surprised at everything she said. Dami was more serious-minded than girls her age and worried him. He was glad she wasn't the giggly and flirtatious type, but sometimes wished she was just more expressive of her moods and attitudes. That along with being a trainee for a company like SM had truthfully concerned him. He knew the current average age of girls at debut ranged in their late teens so he had honestly worried for Dami.

"Dami-ah, this just means you were chosen for your talent and hard work. Not because of your looks or age, dongsaeng. Don't cry and be proud," Dowon said as he drove into the parking lot. "I want you to listen, all right? We are all proud of you. We knew you you'd make it, ok?"

"Yes, oppa," she replied, wiping at her tears.

"Alright dongsaeng, I am at samchon's restaraunt and it's about lunch time so it's bound to be hectic in there so I should go," he said as he stood and grabbed his bag. "Now, take a deep breath and calm down. You should probably also go clean your face after that crying. You probably look a ulgy." Dowon jokingly said. 

"Oppa!" Dami shouted but then giggled along with her oppa.

"You know I'm kidding," he said as he walked into the restaraunt.

She quickly inhaled and exhaled. "I know oppa... and oppa?"

"Yes, Dami-ah? Hurry, I have to go get changed," he answered as he rushed to the stairs.

"Thank you for being my oppa... and I miss you. Don't tell omma or appa. I'll tell them tonight," she said as glanced at Han Bi waving at her.

"All right, Dami-ah. I'll let you tell them your good news, ok? But yes, sometime soon before you get too busy, we'll need to go for boba tea, ok? So let oppa know."

Dami nodded and looked up as Han Bi stood in the doorway. "Bye oppa. Talk to you later."

"Alright dongsaeng; you keep working hard and doing your best. We'll see one another tonight," Dowon said, hung up the phone and walked into the men's locker room.

Dami pocketed her phone and slowly looked up at Han Bi smiling at her. I'm so lucky; I have the best oppa and the best eonnies. She exhaled and hurriedly walked towards Han Bi where they headed back to the elevator. She took a deep breath and prepared herself for whatever the future may bring... and smiled.
