Sehun and Hayoung fell into a comfortable routine of eating breakfast and dinner together.

They would race each other to be the first one up to make breakfast.

For dinner, they would cook together or order takeout and watch movies.

Hayoung really liked watching movies.

Sehun preferred watching her instead.

One night, they were watching a romantic comedy.

Sehun, as usual, was more interested in her than the movie.

Hayoung turned to him, asking, "Isn't this frustrating?"  

"What's frustrating?"

"If he just confessed that he liked her in the first place none of this would've ever happened! It would be so much easier!"

Sehun froze. Was she still talking about the movie?

"I... I... agree," he stuttered.

She sighed. "Sometimes men can be so frustrating." 

Sehun looked at her. "You... you've had a boyfriend before?" 

He could feel his heart dropping.

Hayoung gave him an incredulous look and scoffed. "Oppa please, I'm 20 years old." 

"Oh."

Sehun swallowed uncomfortably. 

He hated the idea of anyone else having her.

"What about you? I find it hard to believe you've been single all your life," she asked, chuckling.

"Well... I've had girlfriends, but nothing serious," he replied.

"No? Never met someone you wanted to love?" 

Not till you.

"Nope," he said awkwardly.

"Me neither," she replied, smiling. 

Hearing that, Sehun's lips formed into a small smile. 

He wanted nothing more than to be the one she loved.

The more time Sehun and Hayoung spent together, the harder he fell for her.

He found himself looking for excuses to come home to eat lunch with her, just so he could see her. 

One day, he came home and she wasn't there. 

Confused, he called her.

"Yes, oppa?"

"I just came home for lunch. Did you go out?"

"Yeah." Her voice dropped to a whisper as she said, "I'm on a date." 

Sehun felt like the world had just started crashing around him.

"W-what?"

"I was at the market and a guy asked me to get lunch and coffee with him," she explained.

"Oh.." he said weakly.

"I gotta go. I'll see you at home later, okay? Bye oppa!" 

She hung up.

Sehun stood there for a long time, images of the times he and Hayoung had spent together, thinking about how he could have possibly let it get to this point.

He was too late. 

He mentally kicked himself.

Of course she would have men lining up to be with her
