Our Naive Misfortunes

Description

Naive (adjective): showing a lack of experience, wisdom, or judgement; innocent.

Some people are gullible, naive, soft, and pliable. That's why they get taken advantage of. To survive you have to have a tough skin.

But that doesn't necessarily mean you have to have a tough heart.

Can being naive only lead you to multiple misfortunes?

Foreword

Jihye tightened her grasp around her crossbody bag before turning the corner onto an almost desolate street. The normal streets that served as another path to school were a little too crowded for her liking. It was only a bonus that she never saw anyone on this path. Most of the time.

"Wow, I actually cannot  believe that worked!" She heard a male voice exclaim. He sounded as if he had won the lottery.

Jihye jumped at the voice but glanced over at the group of guys huddled over and saw that they were wearing the same black and blue uniform she had on. Huh, probably some freshmen. I've never seen them before.

As she got even closer to where they were standing she stopped behind a post and heard the rest of their short conversation.

"Dude, I hope everyone at this school is as naive and gullible as that guy! We can use this money for the rest of the week at least!" One of the boys snickered.

"I know. We have our own money but it's way more fun to act like we don't."

Jihye frowned. Everyone at Seoulite High was rich and most of them, like herself, came from very humble and respectable families. To think there were kids taking advantage of another person's kindness was already infuriating her.

"Honestly. Who actually believes the whole 'I can't find my mom, can you help me?' story. We don't even look like little kids and the guy believed us!"

"Even his wallet is Louis Vuitton. Hah. Hey, think I should keep this for myself?" The tallest boy started laughing so hard he had to hold his side.

The chubby boy snatched the wallet out of his hand and made a "tsk tsk" sound. "I'm the one who came up with the idea, I'm keeping the wallet!" The other two shrugged while he opened the wallet back up and dumped the rest of its contents.

Jihye's frown deepened as she saw family pictures, gift cards, and an ID card fall out of the wallet. She had a strong urge to just jump out from behind the post and smack them senseless for doing something so childish. But there was nothing she could do since she would be easily outnumbered.

The tall boy bent over and picked up the ID card. "This guy seems like a loser anyways. Hm, looks like we're already off to a good start this school year huh boys?"

The three of them laughed before he threw the ID card into the dirt and walked away.

Jihye let out the breath she was holding in and stood up slowly. Making sure they were completely out of sight, she walked over to the belongings that they had dumped and picked them up one by one. Looking at the family pictures, she didn't recognize the boy who was in all of them. Well, it is a big school.

Finally, she picked up the ID card that had been carelessly thrown into the dirt and brushed it off before examining it. The headshot of the guy looked how he did in all of the family portraits he carried.

Scanning the card she read his name out loud.

"Zhang Yixing."

HI GUYS! I AM BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!

Okay, well maybe. I have never finished a story that I started on AFF because honestly I always lost the motivation. I reread all of those fics so hopefully I will update them soon!

SO this new fic features our one and only Zhang Yixing, our lovely unicorn/lamb/loml. And I'm very motivated to finish this! The foreword is just a little something since the first chapter might take a day or two for me to work out, but I hope you guys will look forward to this!
