This story is based on what happened in Monsta X-Ray.

This is probabably the longest story in this Weird Pairings series.

 

Barya is at the aquarium at night.

She is swimming, while thinking about when Jooheon and Minhyuk from Monsta X were visitting her and her friend, Mary.

She misses Jooheon.

She remembers, when she first saw him and developed a crush on him.

She remembers when he hugged her for the first time. 

She wishes that he also kissed her back then.

She wants him to fall in love with her.

 

As she is thinking about that, a person walks past the aquarium.

She thinks that it must be one of the staffs, that works there.

She curiously swims close to the glass seperating them and the visitors.

Then she sees that this person is woman, who is not in staff clothes.

The woman has short, brown hair and is wearing overalls.

"Wassup, what's yo wish?" says the woman.

Barya doesn't know what she is talking about.

"I had a feeling that you were wishing something." 

"Yes, I was, but...." Barya says in walrus language.

"You really like Jooheon, do you not?" she says.

"How do you know that?" she asks, while blushing.

"How I know that? Because I can read your mind." she responds.

"Do you understand me?" she asks surprized.

"Yes, I understand animal language, but I can't speak it." she responds and then tries to say something in walrus language.

"What did you just say about my aunt?" she asks offended.

"Sorry, I was trying to say athe walrus proverb that goes like: "You can make a walrus eat a fish, but you can't make a fish eat a walrus.", but this langauge is really hard." she responds.

Then the woman clears .

"But what do you wish?"

"To become a human girl, so that Jooheon can fall in love with me." she says.

Suddenly the woman takes out a magic fairy wand and says "Beepiti papito boo."

Barya sees sparkles around her and now she is a girl wearing a Juicy Couture tracksuit and crocs.

She swims up to the surface.

"Kamsahamnida." she says.

"You're welcome."

 

Then Barya feels tired.

"But where can I sleep?" she asks.

"You can sleep on the underrated kpop groups."

"What?"

"I mean.... the bench over there."

Barya goes over to the bench and tries to sleep.

 

The next day, a random staff notices her.

"Excuse me, miss...." he says.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, Byeongkwan, I...." she apologies.

"Wait, how do you know my name?"

"Uhm.... the nametag."

"Oh.... that's right." he says.

Then she goes out of the aquarium.

Then she sees a poster outside, where it says something about a Monsta X fan meeting.

"Begins at 10 AM." she reads.

Then she goes over to a random man and asks "excuse me, what time is it?"

"9:35 AM" he says.

 

Then she rushes over to the building, where the fan meeting is.

Then she walks in that building and sees a lot of people waiting in line to talk to the members of Monsta X.

She goes over to the line to Jooheon, where only one person is standing.

The first person says in an American accent "OPPAR, I sarang you so much. You are jinjja daebak and hoteu."

Jooheon is trying to understand what on earth she is saying.

And then it is her turn.

"Hello, what is your name?" he says.

"Barya." she says.

"Barya? that name sounds familiar."

And then he looks into her eyes and starts realizing who she really is.

"Oh my..." he says surprised.

"Sorry, that I sprayed water on you, when I was a walrus." she says.

"I think that we need to talk after this fanmeeting is over."

Then she walks away.

Then she waits outside.

 

The fanmeeting is over and Jooheon walks out.

"How on earth did you turn human?"

"There was a magic fairy."

"Oh, okay." he says.

"Do you want to kiss me?" she asks.

"Barya, I think you are a sweet person, but no."

"Why not?"

"I still see you as a walrus."

"but may I hug you like you hugged me last time?" she asks.

"Okay, fine."

And then he hugs her, it feels a bit different than it did last time.

"I have to go now, Barya." he says.

"Wait, don't go." she says and grabs his wrist.

Then he pecks her forehead.

"Sorry, but we can't be together." he says.

"It's okay, I'm just a walrus." she says.

 

Then he walks away.

She is still standing there.

All of a sudden the fairy appears again "I'm so sorry that he did kiss you."

"It's okay." she says.

"Let's go back to the aquarium. Mary is probably missing you."
