In the hospital…

“Doctor, what’s the result?” Yoseob asked

“Mr. Yang, she’s gone”

“WHAT?!? It’s impossible!”

“Mr. Yang, please accept the truth, she didn’t made it”

            Yoseob kneeled down crying, what happened earlier was tragic. A bomb exploded in a bus station, unfortunately, Yoseob’s girlfriend was there and Yoseob didn’t made it in time, his girlfriend, Jeon Boram was bloody and unconscious when he got there. But she was dead an hour later. For Yoseob, it is the most hurtful thing that ever happened in his life.

“It’s 2 o’clock in the morning and I can’t sleep!” Yoseob exclaims.

            He went downstairs and got a bottle of water from the fridge, he sat down near the window where he can see a wheat field near his house.

“Hmm, what is the purpose of this wheat field? Nobody owned that area.”

            He suddenly saw a ball of light from the sky; the light is heading to Yoseob’s house. It entered Yoseob’s house and all things in the house fell, Yoseob sneaked out to see what the thing from the light is, at his surprise he saw a girl with a white gown and wings.

“Is it really an angel?”

            The girl suddenly moves, Yoseob hides behind the sofa

“Um…where am I?” the girl asked

“You’re at my house, and I don’t know why”

“Wait, are you Yang Yoseob?”

“Why do you know me?”

“Hi, I am happy to meet you! I am Lee Jieun, Angel Gabriel sent me here to protect you”

“How did he knew where and who I am?”

“He is Angel Gabriel; he is God’s herald”

“If you’re an angel, am I the only one who can see you?”

“No, I am visible to anyone’s eyes, but I can look like a human to protect you”

            The girl hid her wings and she looked like an ordinary human being.

“But I’m going to school this morning, how can you protect me there?”

“Simple, I am going with you”

“How?”

“I will say that I am a transferee and dress in uniform”

“You can do it?”

“If you help me, I can do it!”

“Ok”

            She smiled like heaven; Yoseob woke up with the sound of his alarm clock

“Whoa! Is it a dream?”

            He went downstairs and he was surprised when he saw Jieun in uniform and cooking Carrot Salad for breakfast.

“Good Morning, Yoseob! Did you sleep well?” Jieun asked

“Yes, and I think I’m still dreaming”

“No, you are wide awake”

“Really? Hey, where did you get the uniform?”

“I can transform clothes whenever I need to”

“You are cooking vegetables?”

“Yes, I do not feel like eating meat”

“I’m just going to take a bath, call me if you cooked the salad ok?”

“Sure!”

            Yoseob took a bath, after 5 minutes

“Wow! It looks tasty!”

“Wait, let us pray before eating”

“OK”

“Bless us oh Lord and these thy gifts which we are about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen”

“Is it ok now?”

“Yes, let us eat!”

            They ate breakfast then they set off to go to school, Yoseob got his bike ready.

“You ride this thing? Amazing, you love nature!” Jieun was amazed

“Hop on” Yoseob commands

            Jieun rode on the backseat of the bike, while on their way to school

“Yoseob, are you feeling something?” Jieun asked

“Yes, my girlfriend died yesterday”

“Oh, I am so sorry! I did not mean to…”

“It’s alright”

“I think she is with Angel Gabriel and God now”

“I hope so, but what will I say about you later”

“Say that I am your cousin from Cheju, but I wish God forgive us for lying”

“It’s alright, I’ll do it”

“Really? Thank you!”

“You know, you really are good”

“Of course, I am an angel”

            They reached school then went to the classroom, Luckily, only the teacher was there.

“Sonsaengnim, can I transfer her here?”

“Who is she?”

“She’s my cousin from Seogwipo, Cheju”

“She can transfer but does she have the requirements?”

“Right here teacher!” Jieun gives a brown envelope to the teacher

“Where did you get that?” Yoseob asked

“I am always prepared!” Jieun answers

“Ok, Jieun… just wait outside, I’ll call you when class starts”

            A few hours later, the class started.

“Good Morning, Class!”

“Good Morning! Choi Sonsaengnim!”

“Everyone we have a new classmate, she is from Seogwipo, Cheju. She is Lee Jieun!”

            Jieun entered the room

“Good Morning everyone! I am Lee Jieun. It is pleasant to meet you! I hope we can be friends!” then Jieun smiled

            She sat next to Yoseob, when recess came…

“Hi Jieun!” a friend of Yoseob greeted

“Hello, what is your name?”

“I’m Lee Gikwang, I’m Yoseob’s friend”

“It is nice to meet you” she shake hands then she smiled

“Wait, Jieun! Do you want to go outside?”

“Ok!”

            They went outside their room...

“Jieun, do you know that you’re good and cute? You’re really child-like”

“Is that so? It is normal”

            They walked around the school garden…

“Yoseob, I think you miss your girlfriend”

“I really miss her” then he started to cry

“Oh, I am so sorry if I made you cry! I am really sorry!”

“It’s ok, tomorrow is her burial and I want to see her for the last time”

“Can I go with you?”

“Sure, oh man I’m still crying!”

“Wait (gives Yoseob a handkerchief) here, take it”

“Thank you Jieun!”

            The bell rang then class ended, Yoseob and Jieun went back home…

“Ah! There’s a cat in the house!” Yoseob exclaimed

“Oh, it is just a cat. Kitty, come here!”

            The cat approached Jieun then it purrs to her…

“It is a silent and lovable cat, and it is lost”

“Be careful! Maybe it’ll scratch you!”

“Do not worry; she is not what you think”

“Wow! Even in animals, you show great kindness!”

“Certainly! They have lives too”

“Is it hungry?”

“I think it is! Do you have a fish for this cat?”

“Sure, I’ll get it for you”

            They fed the cat then the cat left with the fish on its mouth…

“Yoseob, The cat talked to me earlier”

“Really? What did it say?”

“He gave thanks because we did not send him away and we gave him fish. He will now bring the fish to his family to share with, how kind of him”

“Yes, ok! Now let’s go to sleep!” Yoseob commanded

“Wait! Let us pray first before going to a deep slumber”

“Ok”

“Our Father who art in heaven, holy be your name, your kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sinned against us. Do not bring us to the test but deliver us from evil, Amen!”

“Sweet dreams Yoseob!” Jieun greeted

“You too” Yoseob answered in surprised manner

            Jieun already slept but Yoseob still is awake…

“Is it ok that I’ll take Jieun tomorrow?” he asked himself

            He went downstairs and got a bottle of water from the fridge, he sat down near the window where he can see a wheat field near his house.

“This is where I met Jieun”

            He remembered what Jieun said to him last time…

“Hi, I am happy to meet you! I am Lee Jieun, Angel Gabriel sent me here to protect you”

“I don’t need to leave her alone; I also need to protect her!”

Yoseob and Jieun went to the burial, Yoseob went emotional when Boram’s coffin was lowered to the grave. After the burial they left the cemetery.

“Yoseob, how do you feel now?” Jieun asked

“Don’t worry Jieun, I feel relieved now”

They strolled around Incheon, while they’re walking

“Jieun, do you have a birthday?”

“No, but based on my physical appearance I look like an 18 year-old human.”

“18? So...2011 minus 18… (Calculating the problem) So you’re born on 1993!”

“Oh, I see. You, when is your birthday?”

“January 5, 1990 so I’m 22”

“Wait, you are older than me”

“So I’m your oppa ok?”

“Sure, oppa!”

Later, some men surrounded them, they looked like a syndicate.

“I will never let you take Jieun away!”

“You’ll fight me?” the boss asked

“Oppa, let me handle this” Jieun said to Yoseob

“Wait missy, I don’t hurt girls ok?” the boss said

The men left the area

“Wow! That was impressive Jieun!”

“I did that because I have to protect you, it is my mission”
