“KNOCK ON THE DOOR IF YOUR RAMYUN IS TOO PLAIN AND NEED SOME HEAT.

I PLANT SOME PEPPERS FOR RESEARCH AND NOT FOR FUN.

BUT FYI, THEY ARE ORGANIC AND TASTE SO MIGHTY FINE.”

Ai was the girl that lived by puffing out her breath along the corridors where most human ceased to exist. She would occasionally play with the strings of satchel on her shoulder even when they weren’t flipped; she just had to do it. Her steps would echoed slowly in the enclosed hallway, the rubber of her sneakers almost skinned to her heels. Everything was moving with motion, yet she still at the same place.

She passed the same door for the nth times while deducting future events in her head with plausible ‘maybes’ that she might get the chillies or none at all. She scratched her back few times with the same hand she wanted to use, to knock on the wooden door. She had been eyeing the signboard outside of this room since past week.

Last week which was the busiest week that she believed was bestowed to her in return to give a reminder what an easy life she has been living so far. Thus, the so called conflicts that managed to turned her life upside down ticked her off enough to make her believed that was a way to show that God has been boring with life of His own that he had the leisure to being cheeky and played around with her a little bit.

A pained expression flash over her face as she remembered all the events that caused her a great turbulence of a normally mundane week as a Seoul University student.

She purposely tried to cut contact with people she knew in her life immediately after she was hit with sudden maelstrom(s) in the very same week. And the said maelstroms (again with ‘s’ because it’s plural mind you) are as following:

i) she got to know that her parents were going to divorce when she made a call to ask for their wellbeing, as well as some allowance of the month because they forgotten to give it last month,

ii) her best friend’s boyfriend cheated in front of her but she couldn’t afford to tell her the truth because she just never know how to and there might be possibilities that the girl was his sister cousin too,

iii) her course mate decided to jump group without notice but that was understandable because she expected it to happen after she reported that ungrateful mate’s lazy to their professor,

iv) and her baby turtle which had gone missing to only God knew where on earth she could ever find and wonder if it’s already
