Whispered Words
Description
her only fault is she loves her so much
Foreword
The wind blew through that autumn day.
The afternoon is quiet and the leaves took their journey. Two autumn leaves met halfway, midair and the wind guide them up to the second veranda of that particular house. One leaf landed on the floor.
"yuri..."
"hmm?"
While the other leaf landed on the table situated on the veranda.
"if... if you're not my sister..."
Mrs. Choi accidentally dropped one of Yuri's textbooks while she's arranging and cleaning her daughter's study desk. Usually, its the twins task to clean their own room but since there's nothing to do that particular day, she decided to help and clean her daughters room. After Yuri's she will clean Sooyoung's next. Mrs. Choi picked up the textbook. Her eyebrows furrowed when she sees Sooyoung's name instead on the cover. She just shrugged then tucked the textbook in her arms then walked outside the room.
Across Yuri is Sooyoung's room. Mrs. Choi opened the door and went inside. She put the textbook on Sooyoung's study desk then walked to the sliding glass door that leads to the veranda. She slides it open and instantly noticed the leaves scattered around the place. She tsked and then went to Yuri's room again to retrieve the broom. But halfway there, she heard the phone ringing downstairs so she immediately went down since she's expecting a call from a friend.
Meanwhile, on the veranda, the autumn wind blew again but only the two leaves that landed earlier on the floor and on the table were able to enter Sooyoung's room. One of them landed on the bed while the other one landed on the side table beside the framed photo of smiling Yuri and Sooyoung.
On the photo, Yuri has her arms around Sooyoung’s waist while the latter has her arms around Yuri’s shoulder. They are twins but they don’t look alike.
The wind continue to swirl inside Sooyoung's room until it found the textbook above the desk. The wind tried to blew open the pages but they barely moved. Frustrated, the autumn wind blew it again with such a force that the pages swiftly turned open until a piece of paper showed stuck in the middle of the pages. Satisfied, the autumn wind left it aside then moved on to the other side of the room.
Minutes passed.
Mrs. Choi still not return and the room is so quiet.
The two leaves are still there where they landed.
The framed picture with the smiling face of the twins innocently still on the top of the side desk.
And the textbook still lay open on the top of the study desk with a note stuck in the middle.
A note where three words are written.
Words that once whispered but is forbidden to be whisper back.
I love you
"if you're not my sister...would you love me back?"
