Romeo and Cinderella

Description

Lee Hyun Jae just entered highschool with his childhood friend, Nam Woohyun. She never expected it to be as bad as she though it would be.

Foreword

Ever since I was a kid I was always alone, people would refer me as the Poker face kid of the neighbourhood. I couldn’t do anything about it.  I was born that way and will probably die that way. Poker face kid will stick to my name as we speak was what I always thought back then.

A couple of years ago, there was a kid with the same age as I was that moved next to my house. My room was at the second floor and right side of our house and his room at the second floor and left side of their house. We both have windows and balconies and because of that reason he became close to the poker face kid of the neighbourhood.

“Hello there, beautiful. My name is Nam Woohyun, your prince charming. May I know the name of my princess?” He knelt in front of me like what a prince would do in front of his beloved princess. I wanted to laugh because it was too cheesy for me to handle, but then again, my poker face just won’t come off.

“Lee Hyun Jae,” I stood there with my poker face on as usual. Usually at this time of the conversation the other party is surely about to say something like “looks like I gotta go now” or “see you later then” but never really talk to each other again unless needed.

He stood up and brushed off the dirt from his knees,“Such short words from your mouth. I guess you’re still in shock from seeing my beauty.”

I couldn’t process the situation at all and just stared at him, “excuse me?”

He chuckled, “Just forget that, I’m just trying to get a conversation going with you. You’re pretty interesting. Wanna be friends?”

I felt my cheeks turn red but the same face still stayed on, I nodded my head and he easily understood.

“Good, then we’re friends now,” He smiled, a very radiant smile but all I can do was nothing but make the same old, same old face.

After that we became really close friends, we both went to the same school. Every morning he would give me a ride with his bike but we would walk separate ways after classes were over, probably because he has other things to attend to that doesn’t concern me at all.

More years passed and we were now High school students. New school, new people, more problems, It isn’t easy for a girl like me at all, not to mention the 'thing' stuck to my face.

Woohyun picked me up and gave me the usual ride to school. I was sitting at the back riding backwards; we had our backs facing each other like we always do.

“First day of high school, aren’t you feeling fidgety and excited?” he asked as he started peddling.

 “No”

“I knew it, just like you to not get excited over things, I so know you like the back of my hand,” he laughed loudly enough for people to notice him, but then again with looks like his, he would always be noticed, “Remember to stay out of trouble, okay?”

I nodded my head even though I know he can’t see me, but he didn’t say a word after that. The ride to school was only for a while, before we knew it we were already there. People, mostly girls were staring at him others were whispering to each other. Well, I already guessed this will happen and the fact that I’m unseen to the eye of these people is already not so new to me.

As we entered the gate of the school, I somehow had this feeling that my peaceful life will be no more.
