Description

The power of the human soul is not to be looked down upon, capable of tapping into the overflowing reservoirs of magic that the bountiful world has to offer. Hakyeon, a spirited young mage, has never had trouble harnessing such power, molding the wild to his will and creating the most beautiful and complicated of spells with the slightest flick of his fingers. Content to keep to himself, Hakyeon watches the world in peace, gifting his knowledge to those who need it.

Enter Jung Taekwoon.

Incredibly talented and equally as cold (and handsome, but Hakyeon didn't tell you that), Taekwoon takes Hakyeon's world by storm when he essentially drags him off on an impossible quest to save the world. Now Hakyeon not only has to deal with the biggest he's ever met, but monsters, sarcastic apprentices, deranged evil overlords, and, worst of all, bad puns.

May the goddesses protect his soul (No, seriously. Someone save him).

Foreword

So I'm writing again. Yay.

I'd like to think my writing's gotten better (I've been reading fancy 'mature' books now with a lot of big words and attempting to copy them and their writing styles pitifully), but we'll see. Mildly terrified because this is entered into a contest and I have no idea how long it's going to be, plus me and completing things never mix, even if I have a year to do this. Let's go do this!

I attempted to edit myself a poster, and it's not half bad in my opinion. What do you guys think? Maybe I'm not so artistically challenged...

Chapter 5: So I'm starting this after I found it in the contest it placed in and I have, thus far, been entertained and delighted by what I've seen. I had no idea what I was getting into when I began, but I really enjoyed the lore of the world (with the goddesses and that opener leading to Hakyeon's continued living). I have also found myself chuckling or laughing far more often than I figured I would. Hakyeon and Taekwoon are delightfully annoying to each other, and the best part is that they seem to be fairly evenly matched. I absolutely adore the fact that one isn't playing damsel - even if Hakyeon has been treated as an unwilling one recently. lol

I'm also enjoying your spells here as well. How did you come up with them, if you don't mind my asking? It's wonderful that they both seem to have their affinities for certain elements, but also how Hakyeon can summon these witches who have their own personalities. I like that they're not just generic summons as it were, and they can be fickle or run away or disdainful depending on the situation. Touche!

While you've mentioned this prophecy and even had Wonshik relay it for us, I'm wondering how the interpretation of it is going to play out. You've also got me curious with Jaehwan here. There's definitely more than the meets they with him. I'm almost sure of it. I'm also a bit worried about Hongbin at the moment. I took a peek at the comments so I'm not sure how he's going to fare in the near future, but that ending to this chapter does not bode well. >.> And since we've seen everyone else, now I wonder where Hyuk is going to show up. heh

It's safe to say that I'm intrigued and I look forward to finding out how the rest of it goes. Congrats already on winning the contest and also for finishing the story. I'll let you know when I finish reading it (if not sooner)! ^_^

Chapter 15: Gaahhhhhh why didn't I read this earlier???!!!! I've had it on my to-read list for ages and I should have gotten to it soonerrrrrr D: I really want to know Leo and N's story now but I kind of feel like it would be a fluffy one :P

Chapter 15: I came back here after months, hoping to find out what happened to one of my favourite stories on the internet.
HOO BOY.
This story has given me pain, and more pain, and then some hope, and then mind-numbing pain, followed by terror, and finally a small smidgen of hope. I,m going to bookmark this story for life, and someday in the future if I ever have kids, they're gonna read it too. It's almost like an heirloom.
