Fernweh is you. 

You woke up. You woke up feeling a feeling you hadn’t felt since you were seven. The feeling when you had your first sleepover at your friend’s house. You hated it. 

Hissing at the warm sensation, you wondered how you ended up under the shower head. Whatever. You could’ve care less. You wanted to wash away that horrible homesick feeling.

You twisted the knob until the water stopped. Sighing as you stepped into the bitterness of your bathroom, you wrapped a fluffy towel around tightly. 

The bathroom always made you feel lonely, but you perceived how unwanted you were here. Ugh. 

Your fingers combed your hair back. You’d be fine with that lingering feeling of distress being away from home, but in your case, it would never be like that. The feeling was so intense that you crumpled to your knees.
